In the view of the apocalyptic sorts, folks like the Teachers Unions are all seduced by Satan and see everything through that filter. Yeah, it sounds quite "thumperish", but it's one that helps make sense of a lot of stuff that does not otherwise make sense.
Since the Jews are in "a special relationship" with YHWH, that makes them Enemy #1 ... and no amount of reasonableness can be applied which would change that. THEY are in a "special relationship" with Satan, and everything that is good, proper, rational, and, most especially Jewish must be destroyed for them to get the approval of their master.
I know ... beyond tinfoil hat territory ... but it explains a lot.
