Somehow Halloween has come and almost gone without much notice by me. We did plot a few fun Halloween treats for the bakery this week, and I got to decorate a spiderweb cake and make little dirt cake cups with neon gummy worms, which apparently made me so happy it warranted a picture from Alex. Ooh... What kind of dog?

If the back pain is from work, as stupid as it sounds, just work through it. Don't think about it. It too shall pass. And take aleve. That's what helped me.

Joe fucked up 72 pumpkin pies at work. I didn't. Ha! It shouldn't be a competition, but it is.

He's a German Shepherd mix, but we're not sure what he's mixed with. The shelter suggested rott, but I don't think he is. He's quite adorable and it feels like he's been with us forever not just a week.

I'm not real worried about the back pain, because I do know that will pass eventually as the muscles build up. I am worried about the numbness in my fingers that haunts me constantly.

Is everyone pumpkin crazy there too? We've sold more pumpkin pie bars than anything the businesses history so far. It's insane. We've got pumpkin pie bars, pumpkin scones, pumpkin spice bread, pumpkin cake and cupcakes, and of course pumpkin pie. It never seems to end, but we're ok with that. Just have to figure out what screams Christmas as profitably as pumpkin screams fall ;-)

Yes... the numbness in the fingers sounds bad. What are you doing for it to happen?

There are so many Christmas flavors. I don't think there is just one :) Just a variety. And any and all Italian pastries, if you're dealing with Italians. Because of course they NEED their desserts, just the way they remember them from New York.

Have a pinched nerve in both of my wrists and possibly one shoulder which are causing the numb fingers.

We're definitely not an Italian-like bakery. All American all the way. I work for two former Marines and we sell like 5 different types of brownies and hummingbird cakes and Elvis cakes and such. It satisfies both the 50's housewife in me and the creative side at the same time.
