Terse Verse Tuesday

Nov 08, 2011 17:31

title: Haunting Yourself
character: Draco
rating: PG
words: 60
summary: Draco fears the air of Azkaban.

Time grips his breath as the world sighs

they, having decided for him, to exchange
the returned wand, the seasoned pride for
a reliefless seasonless sentenced penance
leave him

moribund
Motherless
Animalized

He doesn't know when he'll live or if he'll die
or if he'll be

reduced to ghosthood, having to find
a whole new way of breathing
without sighs

A/N: *resists urge to provide rambling commentary*

I'll use one overused word: experimental. At least, outside my usual comfort zone. Well, except for the angsty!Draco aspect--that aspect is empirically tested by me many times over. The hypothesis that never fails! I'm entranced by Azkaban!Draco and maybepossiblymight continue this 'verse. ♥
