Christmas Crafting: A Belated List

When I post about craft projects, I like to include pictures. Sadly, I didn't scan or photograph these items, and their descriptions fall short of the requisite thousand words. But all the more reason to log them here. Or something.

For my gramps: baby blue boxer-briefs....

No, I haven't painted any boxers. Yet.

Holy mackerel. When did you sleep? Do you start these the January before? I'm in awe. And you didn't even include mine, which I like quite a lot.

The cross-stitch, the jewelry, and a few other projects were begun and finished in the few months before Christmas. The rest were begun beforehand: some of these (such as yours) were done long before the holiday season; others weren't finished until I lit a Yule-log fire under my ass. (Amazing things, deadlines!)

I am glad you like your turtle. It did occur to me after I posted this entry that I had neglected to include him (not to mention the crocheted catnip mice I made for my own and other Squidjees). So, there follows a turtle blurb. :)

For Heather: a turtle crocheted from two different types/shades of green yarn. I made the pieces individually and stitched them together, then filled the body with clove-scented potpourri. The design was my own. I made the shell by modifying a granny square pattern (making granny octagons); the round body by modifying part of a hat pattern (granny circles?); and the appendages by making tiny swatches given shape by the increasing and decreasing of row length.

And the calendar with the painted cover. You forgot it, too. BTW, Anthony likes the turtle, as does my cat. (:
