You can make yogourt "cheese" by lining a strainer with fine cheesecloth and pouring the yogourt into it. The excess liquid drains off, leaving you with something very like pureed cottage cheese.

idea for cooking: use a double boiler, water in the lower pot, to heat the cottage cheese slurry more slowly & evenly - it is what you use when cooking dairy so that it doesn't "break" when making cream sauces.
