Not really. Volunteer organisation politics is (a) ugly, and (b) largely incomprehensible to outsiders. You're probably better off not knowing the gory details ;>. (I rather wish I didn't).

I had a polite debate with bumpy about Superman Returns this evening. I too am looking forward to this lauded reclamation of the iconic hero. Bumpy went "Pffff!" in that dimissive way of his. :)

Btw, The Onion also had an amusing list of Supe's old foes we probably won't be seeing in the new film. Tire Racketeers - hehe.

I'm more impressed, actually, by the rest of the Shire, who are basically refusing to be drawn into what for want of a better word I suppose we could call a debate. Same principle as "don't feed the animals, it just encourages them." The problem is that the two sides of the debate are on different planets, and any continued discussion tends to simply reinforce that fact.
