The EL is very annoyed that my subconscious thinks he'd set Macavity up with a TV, and denies the possibility fervently. I'm not sure I'm convinced.

You need a huge water pistol to chase off Macavity.

I don't think I possess the necessary sharpshooter speed of draw. We've only ever glimpsed the wretched animal for seconds at a time, during which he's a sort of high-speed ginger blur. The EL is currently revolving complex plans to trap Macavity in the shed, although quite what we'll do with him once we've caught him is still open to debate.

What I'd want to do is apply *ahem* appropriately high technology to the problem. Your cats are chipped, right? Or can be. Then fit a system like this to the catflap. Other cats and strange beasties would be excluded.
