I understand everything... except that wig.

Among the approximately twelve million things I haven't done this week is to blog about the Sunday evening movie club - it was good! The quest for Ever Greater Values Of Rolls Filled With Stuff led me to simmer an entire gammon ham in cider for a couple of hours and then coat it with honey mustard and brown sugar and bake it until the whim took me ( Read more... )

Were the mermaids the stupid way around?

Certainly. It's traditional. Also, they grow legs when dried out, which is presumably ameliorates the stupidity, at least for amorous human men.

Also, aargh.

Heh. Growing legs would help a lot for walking around on land. And things.

Also, Danny John-Jules's character in Red Dwarf is technically not a human man. He is descended from cats, which entirely explains the smugness.

Pity about the PotC film; the original book was excellent.

On a marginally related note, Sam Claflin from Pirates 4, plus Chris Hemsworth and Benoni's finest daughter star in the upcoming "Snow White and the Huntsman". The imagery in the trailer looks great, although Chris' Scottish accent is regrettable, and with Kristen Stewart as Snow White, I'm kinda rooting for Charlize: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=55Dq2psogSw&feature=related

Looking forward to your opinions of Skyrim. Thinking of buying it once I finished Uncharted 3.

Damn, that looks awesome. I love these new "back to the Grimmness" fairy tales :)

Also, I think I love Chris Hemsworth and long hair. He must never cut it. I'm with you on the rooting for Charlize though, I hate that Twilight poppie.

There's a fairly accurate (no super-mutants, anyway) dramatisation of the Cuban missile crisis called Thirteen days. Don't be put off by the presence of Kevin Costner.
