My nice doctor has booked me off work for the week, with strict instructions to REST, dammit! I am still more than somewhat exhausted, but today I have done the following:

I like your Microfic piece very, very much - style, atmosphere, themes, ambiguity, emotional realism contrasting with a strong hint of physical fantasy, the works.

That's somewhat narcissistic praise, because out of the ficlets on the blog so far, yours is the one most like what I imagine I'd write. In fact I did write something a bit like it years ago, only not so well :)

Why, thank you, sir! I have to say it's one of the few things I've written that I'm actually satisfied with, which I suppose is one of the advantages of the really short format - I spent two days tweaking words. There's also something incredibly liberating about writing as exercise, where you have no real purpose other than to set out and explore a theme or image in an intensely focused manner.

I think the vague point of the Microfic blog is eventually to open it up to more writers, so you could approach the stv if you wanted in?
