PURE NATURAL HERBS THAT ADHERE TO INTERNATIONAL NORMS

Hooray, my dreams are back! not sure why, but I've apparently got the stress under control, or at least come to terms with it, to the extent that I'm sleeping properly and being properly active of a night. The night before last featured a dark, desolate, Mordorish landscape filled with dank lakes, in the middle of which a ruined castle on an island ( Read more... )

I love those traditional doctor pamphlets, they crack (quack?) me up every time.

Label on Woolies oranges: sweet, juicy flesh. Maybe it's just me and P, but it really sounds like zombie oranges.

Zombie oranges, or an underage porn ad. One or the other.

I'm not sure that seeing the new Harry Potter is a reward for anything. I want to see "Moon" this week. Script by Duncan Jones, son of David Bowie.

ooh, yes, looking forward to that one. If it's ever actually released here, that is. I hear good things about it.

I agree that HP&THBP is punishment rather than reward; there was not nearly enough Alan Rickman and I battled to stay awake :(

The reviews I've read have been a whole mixed bag, so I'm keeping an open mind. Worst case scenario, Hogwarts, pretty boys, maybe some cool magic. And even some Alan Rickman is better than a poke in the eye.

As far as HP VI is concerned, I have heard it described as "Hogwarts 90210".

Hm, come to think of it, you may not be familiar with that TV reference! 90210 was an 80s-early 90s American TV show that was centered 100% on teenage angst amongst rich kids in Beverly Hills, California. They seemed at times as if they were from a completely different planet than us Muggles..er...middle class teenagers. :-P Watch and see if you agree.

I felt there was neither enough Snape nor enough Ginny. My opinion only, and others' MMV.

Also, I find it quite fascinating that for you, dreaming=sleeping soundly, whereas I'm completely the opposite.

Oh, we got "90210" here, believe me. Unnaturally good-looking plastic cast with names like "Brandon" and "Kelli". Also, the show guilty of foisting Tori Spelling on an unsuspecting and undeserving world.

The book version of Half-Blood Prince is all pretty teen romancy, so I really don't mind if they play that up a bit, it's fun and quite realistically developed. I also have a low, sneaking suspicion they're going to relocate some of the horcrux plot points into the next movie, for reasons of space.

I never know, when I throw out what could be a purely American cultural reference. :-) And please, don't get me started on Tori Spelling. :-P

I am hoping for some judicious shifting to fill in some of the gaps in HP VI, but it's so hard to say what they'll do and how they'll do it. Misty memory flashbacks? Judicious use of the pensieve? Made-up scenes that were never in the book? Only time will tell (though I would be very disappointed if they go with that last option).

Me, I quite liked it. It didn't feel as long for me as it actually was & the teen angsty bits didn't drag for me the way the angst in the previous two films did. Agreed there was not enough Snape, and definitely not enough Ginny (there, my oblig. dirty old man impression for the week -well, that and leering at Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow in Iron Man II)

Oh, forgot to add - I really liked the special effects, except one scene, and you'll see what I mean when I say "WETA should sue!"
