Actually, my deathless prose is a whole hunk of better since the copy-editor had a go at it. I still mourn the inclusion of the serial comma, but I was reading a paper I wrote in January before the whole copy-edit experience, and it would be a lot more deathless if I wrote it now :>.

Thank you for cute teddy/good wishes, I am doing my damndest to not let this cold go all Evil Sinus on me. Lots of vitamins, staying indoor by the heater. (We have rain/high winds/storm in Cape Town this weekend).

We were supposed to have thunder storms some time yesterday, so spent Saturday afternoon installing a second water butt on the principle that if all that rain was coming we'd at least try to collect it.

All what rain? As with so much of the 'weather this summer it seems to have been diverted by the hills behind the city. Oh, we got some damp, around 4-6pm - had to put the lights on it got so murky, & I was knitting with dark grey yarn. Then it stopped & brightened up again. Ah well, there was enough to water the garden (we have lots of pots) again this morning.
