memory of a free festival

Gah. Woke up at 5am this morning with my foot violently in cramp, no doubt possessed across time by the spirit of me aged 5 on Christmas morning and completely unable to sleep from excitement. On the upside, there were slipper socks in my Christmas stocking.

Just to prove to schedule5 that I actually did achieve something vaguely like a Christmas tree:

What a creative and nifty use for SCA tokens! Now I want to have a second SCA tree!

Happy Holidays from far away,

I fear I nicked the idea from Honor, who reputedly decorates her tree entirely in site tokens. Since I have a well-defined resistance to the idea of actually acquiring anything festive like decorations, it works well for me. It's also a reason to stop throwing site tokens away ;>.

The tree has one addition since I took the photo: I found my tiny plush Cthulhu, so he's hanging from a branch. I think I'll make more Cthulhus for next year. I am constitutionally unable to do Christmassy things without irony.

We have the opposite problem: we have boxes full of ~15 years' worth of site tokens!

We try to keep our main tree in keeping with the house's history, but I'll bet some of the tokens would work well with that one, too.

We had a busy day but the overall holiday season has been quite lovely. Massive update here: http://www.cyvarwydd.blogspot.com/

I hope you feel properly guilty, it's all your fault!

Had a very laid-back, low-key Xmas, which suits me fine. Hope yours was equally suitable to your purpose.
