I thoroughly enjoyed Casablanca. It's one of those movies one should really watch before experiencing, oh, I dunno, modern culture. It's like watching Shakespeare: all sorts of references, quotes and idioms suddenly fall into place. It's aged very well, without any of that clunkiness one sometimes associates with old movies. Hadn't particularly thought of the essential LARParity of Casablanca, pleased you enjoyed it too (some people I know are indifferent or midly hostile to it). Gosford Park is a fabulouly LARPile movie (and written by my cousin (/me basks in reflected glory))
Incidentally, if you have not done so already, you will probably shortly ben meeting Frau Doktor Professor, who's on loan to UCT lingusitics for a few weeks and to whom I suggested you were a fun person to seek out (so is she).

Larps? Nuclear submarines? Your thinking of Crimson Tide of course, or Below(my favourite sub horror), or Das Boot - almost anything in a submarine makes for marvelous larping due to the intense confinement & stresses. Likewise space movies.
