A Passport To Follow You Home

Spencer travels the world, Ryan follows him around. Also known as: really codependent best friends are screwed up! I find this depressing, and I wrote it. Uh, sorry?

PG, gen (UST of a sort?), 1325 words

Thanks to prettykitty_aya and immortal_lights for betaing, and magdalyna for suggesting a title!

When everything was over, Spencer decided to travel the world. Ryan said he was coming with. )

gen, ryan/spencer, fic

I actually don't have the words at the moment. Give me a sec.

...

Okay, so - I love the feel of this more than anything else, really, how melancholy it is, almost, sort of resigned. I don't really like this portrayal of them in a really selfish sense, because I wish they could just be adorable, co-dependant failbots always, but sadly...this is plausible, this works. I love your Ryan voice, and I love the little moments. So much to love in so few words. ♥

Oh man, thank you for this lovely comment. I'm glad you liked it despite yourself, I'm glad you found it plausible. ♥!

Utterly beautiful work. I loved the silence and silences of it; the disconnected yet too connected feel of their friendship and how everything just ached and ached.

I love the way you write about places. ♥

Thank you! Writing about the places cheered me up, I must admit; the rest of it was just depressing.

The rest of it is really good too--I think you do the character-sketch-in-little-details well, but you're right, it hurts to read and it must have hurt to write. I think that's why I fixated a little on the way you wrote place, in three lines here-and-there but still really evocative.

Oh, boys. :(

I still liked it, even though it makes me sad. You are wonderful.

Aw, thank you! I'm sorry to have made you sad, none of this true anyway. Remember: canon is when Ryan Ross breaks lamps to make his backyard more vibey! ♥
