Have you watched all the online interviews with the crew of the Hermes? I'm sure you have but they are great in case you haven't... one thing i really loved about the book was the little way in which the author made it known that Watney was the heart of the crew. It was also great the way Lewis's fascination with the 1970s was brought to life in the soundtrack. :) also loved troy as the astrodynamics dude, perfect energy for the role.

Now someone can cross Sebastian's space role with Chris's role in Sunshine (hopefully so that Sunshine makes a little more sense!) Like, Sebastian helps Chris train for his long mission, so Chris has a reason to survive and makes sure his mission makes it home again, because happy reunion :)

Okay so here's my problem, I got into The Martian a little late so I missed all the cute promotional stuff and I don't know where to start! How could I find those interviews? Are they a series on Youtube? I have seen the clip of Mark showing the audience around the Hermes and meeting the crew. Are there others? Cause I definitely need to see them!! I also want to look up more interviews with the cast because they're a buncha cuties ( ... )

the youtube channel with the interviews and side trailers! this is my favorite one.

it really is a "yay space! space is awesome!" movie, isn't it. i wonder how many kids are currently being inspired to study math and science and engineering and astronomy so they can go into space-related fields.

jeff daniels' dry and amused "i'm the director of nasa" cracked me up. that whole scene was great. donald glover was such a pleasure to watch.

THE MARTIAN! LET ME FLAIL AT YOU SOME MORE ABOUT THE MARTIAN! BECAUSE WATNEY! AND THE CREW!! AND THE HERMES!!! AND MARS!!!! ALL LOOKING SO AMAZING AND BEAUTIFUL!!!!!

OK I'll stop with the exclamation marks. :D

But seriously, SO GOOD! If this was seven years ago I'd have twenty Martian icons for LJ by now (*sigh*). I've seen it three times now and it's not enough. I SO need the DVD!

I even bought the soundtrack (the disco tracks, not the instrumental - yet!).

EVERYTHING IS SO BEAUTIFUL I COULD CRY SOB SOB. I need a HD picture of the Hermes for my desktop ASAP. And the DVD right now. Also an entire sequel about the Hermes crew being a bunch of cuddlebunnies FOR REASONSI

I have been listening to both versions of the soundtrack on Spotify. Both are excellent. :D

The Martian! Yes! Who could not love what is basically MacGyver in space? Haven't yet managed to find the time to see the movie (which is pitiful, I KNOW) which makes me sad. Let's hope for soon!
