This morning, two guys were doing maintenance on our cell culture hood. I squeezed by them to get my dish of cells out of the incubator. One of the guys made some comment about that looking cool or something, and I said "Well, it's breast cancer!" and he was like "Really??" and I laughed and showed him under the microscope. Aw, that's an adorable story. And I definitely feel you on the Shitty Scientist front. Yesterday I ran about 20 TLCs... four of which actually worked. There was maybe something funky with the plates? I would stain with phosphomolybdic acid and heat and the entire thing would just turn all navy blue and blobby. No! No! Incorrect! And my mentor is all "Yeah, I'm pretty bad at chromatography so..."

I also have Short Stumpy Legs Slow Walker Syndrome, so I definitely feel ya, but I'm kind of getting better about not being so neurotic about it on account of my school being a Walking Campus!!111one.

Also, I don't watch Big Bang Theory (my epic embarrassment squick, let me show it to you) but your icon is PRESH.

Aw that sounds so nerve wracking, the whole feeling like you're being tailgated while you're walking. I'm one of those people that gets annoyed by slow, lazy walkers, but I imagine you don't take up THE ENTIRE WALKWAY so that no one can pass you. That bugs me so much.
