Theory: the lyric "you come around because I love your face" is a not-so-subtle response to all the fangirls (myself included) whose most frequent response to Brendon Urie is "omg Bden, your FACE"? You expressed how I feel about "Change" much more nicely and succinctly than I did in an aborted LJ post. "Derivative" is the perfect word for it.

Oh my sweet goddamn lord, I am so excited for new stuff by those ridic boys. SO. EXCITED. New shows! New album! NEW TOUR! (oh please please PLEASE let me see them this time around D:)

As for Panic/Not!Panic, admittedly I haven't listened to the new songs yet so I don't really have an opinion, but....I kind of don't care? Pretty much the only bandom bands that I give a crap about musically anymore are MCR, Cobra, Hushies, Phantom Planet (although are they even really considered bandom?) and FOB. Everyone else I'm just kinda MEH about :/

I'm definitely gonna have to check out Jaida and Dani's new book, although my feelings about it are yours. I had no idea it was gonna be about different people! :(

That's pretty much how I feel about "Change" too - which is too bad, but honestly not really surprising. And I agree about the "I love your face" lyric. That's...pretty much the only explanation.

MCR!!!! I've never been that *fannish* about them, but musically they are absolutely my favorite of the bandom bands and I'm excited for new stuff.
