So I'll just settle for "good luck"

Just got back from seeing Star Trek, and obviously it was AWESOME. Chris Pine could set my phaser to stun any day! Rawr! (No I don't know either.) I loved how the whole thing was a big game of "Who's that actor?" Hey, it's Cameron from House! That chick from Centerstage! That dude from Harold and Kumar! EOMER! Simon PEGG! And holyfuck it's Winona ( Read more... )

William Shatner was, at one point, actually attractive.

Okay fine, NOW I see the Shatner attractiveness. It pains me to say so! But there it is. And oh my god the backrub scene! AHAHAHA. let's be a little MORE blatant. Was that late in the show's run, when slash was already runny rampant? Early fanservice, hee!

Yay fic!

Thank you hon.

PS YOUR ICON NOM NOM.

XD I cannot remember what episode that backrub scene is from. It has been years since I've properly watched the show. I just remembered that it existed!

And you are welcome. That was probably the slashiest show I had the pleasure to grow up on. :x (Little did my father know I'd later grow up to be a lesbian manporn writer?)

PS I KNOW THAT ICON IS SO HOT STALK duskicons

Seconding kashmir1's comment about how Shatner was attractive back in the day.

You didn't know the origins of the term slash came from Kirk/Spock? I thought that was common knowledge in fandom.

I hope you guys are able to find a good place soon. *crosses fingers*

No, I knew Kirk/Spock was the origins, I just didn't know who played them. I know, I know. Star Trek was always this vague amorphous thing that involved pointy ears and a dude named Scotty beaming people up. That's it, honestly. Haha.

Hmm, I can see how he could be considered attractive, but I just see current Shatner in the shape of his eyes and mouth, so I don't know if I could ever get on that boat! /o\

Thank you :( It's kind of upsetting. I like the look of the 5 BR we're looking at though, it's on Lawrence. Fingers crossed...

I can't direct you toward interviews, but I can direct you toward TEH SLASH. ;)

What I've memoried so far:
Kirk/Spock
Kirk/McCoy
Spock/Uhura
Spock/Uhura/Kirk

And then there's st_xi_kink, the NuTrek anon kink meme. It's actually got some good stuff going on over there.

I'm actually surprised at the quality of the fic in this fandom so far, but considering that TOS Kirk/Spock is the founder of all slash, I shouldn't be. ;)

Well someone's already broken it to you - but I will add that Shatner was also in the original Twilight Zone episode about the guy afraid to fly - who sees a goblin tearing apart the plane.

John Lithgow plays the same character in the same vignette in the 1983 film.

Then on 3rd Rock From the Sun - Shatner plays Lithgow's boss - the Big Head - from the planet they're all from.

Big Giant Head (Shatner): It was a horrible flight! There was a man on the wing of the plane!
Dick Solomon (Lithgow): The same thing happened to me!

Then there's the whole Denny Crane story in Boston Legal.

Plus? Kevin Pollack can't be wrong
