Got a call from a customer, the kind who would normally get under my skin... lots of questions about things that are on the letter she's reading from. The answers are right there. The difference? She was remarkably polite and respectful, apologizing for taking up my time and admiting that perhaps this is something that should be obvious, but that ( Read more... )

I've had similar dreams about flying ever since I was a child - though I usually either had to jump really high, or flap like a bird. I'm sure I tried to do it on numerous occasions growing up, just because the dreams were *so* vivid.

Even more vivid, however, were the dreams of figure skating.

I *still* have fully-choreographed figure skating dreams, in which I do a variety of neat moves - all of which exist, as far as I can tell. I've never taken a single figure skating lesson in my life.

Sometimes, when I'm actually skating, I'll forget that I don't know how to do something, and I'll try to do it (this usually lands me on my ass, as I stumble as soon as I realize what I'm doing). Two winters ago,I actually landed (!) an axel (single rotation) before I remebered that I didn't *really* know how to do it. Freaked the hell out of me, AND my roommate at the time.

Never been much of a skater.

For me it wa always running. Sometimes I'd jump once and I'd be airborne, sort of active gliding, sometimes verically sometimes horizontally. Sometimes I'd be able to bound... really, really big jumps.

I have however never been able to do either in real life, so I envy you your figure skating moment.

ME TOO! Bounding like a gazelle, only REAAALLLY high...and then sometimes flying.
I always thought if I could only jump from the proper height (ie. down the stairs at my old house) that it'd work.
It didn't :(

Yes, I used to try the same thing. (I was lucky enough to land safely every time)

dreams of flying, i was just thinking of them last night.. in some i'd also have to run in order to take off, in others it was just sheer will power.. it must be fun to be a bird. Flicka sure makes flying look like a blast! (she is watching the letters appear across the screen)
