"My name? It's Ema Skye!" chirped the scientific gal. "So, since it seems we're both trying to find the cow bell, the logical approach is for us to team up!" Pulling out the magnifying glass again, she looked into it, enlarging her eyeball. "We should follow the cow hoof tracks on the dirt to find the farm."

He had to think, or act fast...Dr. Horrible couldn't keep up this stealth forever; if the two started to leave he'd have to follow, and there was little cover to lurk behind in a field. What to do...

Well, he wasn't evil for nothing.

Leaping out from behind his protective cover, he struck a dramatic pose - feet spread wide apart, a hand in the air - and pointed his old, recorder device at the two, hoping it would serve as a bluff weapon.

"Stop right there! Your day just got horrible!"

Tsuuma turned around st the sudden intrusion and yelped. She quickly moved behind Ema. W-Why were they being attacked?! Who was this person?! Her ears drooped and she peered out from behind Ema.

"W-Who are you?"

At first, Ema was startled by the sudden intrusion. However, when the shock subsided, she turned around and noticed just who it was that was there. "You! You're that...that Professor Terrible!!"

He grimaced at the mangling of his name. What was it with people forgetting his supervillain status? He was a doctor! He demanded respect!

"It's Dr. Horrible, you idiot! H-O-R-R...Yeah. So...whoever you two are....keep your hands where I can see them! What I'm holding is a very deadly, very lethal discombobulator device, which, if used, will rearrange all the compounds in your bodies from highest to lowest atomic number!"

Yeah, he thought. That sounds convincing.

"You keep your hands where I can see them or I'll whack you with this!" Ferociously, Ema began to swing her magnifying glass around in mid air.

"Didn't you understand what I said? I could blast you into oblivion!" Dr. Horrible waved the recorder to emphasize the killing power of Radioshack.

"Now, you two listen to me! I promise not to hurt you if you two find that cowbell-thing and deliver it to me. I've..uses for it. Do as I say!"

Tsuuma wrung her hands, keeping herself behind Ema. She really didn't understand what Dr. Horrible was talking about but it sounded unpleasant. She certainly didn't want her compounds rearranged. They were fine where they were!

"I.. There are cows down on the farm.. It might be there." She offered the information in hopes that it would get him to maybe back off a little.

Turning her head slightly, she glanced at Tsuuma. "We're not going to do anything for him!"

Long ago, she had been a victim of a villian who had almost taken her life and had succeeded in killing another, she promised herself she wouldn't let that happen again. "Leave us alone!" Closing her eyes, she took a swing at Dr. Horrible with her magnifying glass.

Now he knew why he preferred long-distance rays and beams over weapons with an arms-length requirement.

The magnifying glass cracked against the side of his temple, and he dropped his recorder, crouching down and hugging the side of his head, wincing.

"Owww.....Ow." Dr. Horrible, in his efforts to retaliate, stood up too quickly and knelt back down again, taking off his goggles to rub the side of his head, where a decent-sized bruise would probably greet him the next morning.

When she realized just it was that she'd done, her eyes widened in horror. Had she just done that!? Sure, she was being threatened and was possibly justified in her actions, but...she had just attacked another person!

"I'm so sorry!" Dropping the magnifying glass, Ema kneeled down beside him, her hands reached out but did not touch him. Then she wondered why she should even care.

Tsuuma watched, startled as Ema struck Dr. Horrible with the magnifying glass and he fell over. Wow. Ema must have been much stronger than she appeared to be!

Tsuuma approached cautiously. "Mister Dr. Horrible? ...Perhaps you should come check the farm with us. I'm sure it'll go faster if we all work together."

He rubbed the side of his head, blinking to dismiss the hazy, light circles darting around in front of him. Finally, he replaced his goggles on top of his head, wincing as the leather band pressed up against the bruise. Well, it wasn't like he'd suffered worse; but not from the hands of a girl, or his intended victim! He was humiliated.

Standing up slowly, he looked to Tsuuma and warily pointed a gloved finger at her. "Dr. Horrible does not need...charity...from his vic-" He was starting to feel a bit sick, and could only pray the E.L.E didn't have their spies in this neck of the woods.

"...Fine...Fine." He could always steal it back from them later, couldn't he?

Tsuuma gave a slightly uncomfortable smile and offered a hand to help him up, hopeful that he wouldn't threaten them again. "I'm sure we'll find it quickly if we work together. Ema seems to have a plan already and she's very smart!"

Tsuma turned one ear toward the farm and then glanced in that direction. "I'm sure we'll find the cowbell for Conductor-san if we all work together." She looked toward Ema, "Right Ema?" She did her best to be a voice of reason and prevent another fight from starting.

Still guilt-ridden, Ema gave Tsuuma a slow nod. "Yes. That's quite right. The forensics course manual states that cooperation between scientists and the police are necessary for the objective to be completed well."

She let out a tiny sigh. Maybe she had been a little too hasty and hostile toward...the other science guy. After all, his words the other day had forced her to think a little more about her own ideals.
