Kenshin... felt a bit overwhelmed. He had picked up that this sort of thing was happening while on the train, even though it was a bit hard to believe. In any case...

"Excuse this one, Tomoe-sensei, but this one would like to speak with you."

"Himura-san, it is a pleasure to meet you." Bowing to him, she took a step away to sit down on her seat, crossing her leg over the other. "Have a seat of your own. I insist." She pointed over to another similar to her own for him to sit at.

Kenshin kindly returned the bow and sat calmly in the chair.

"This one is supposed to be a teacher's aide to Tomoe-sensei, yes? Well... judging by Tomoe-san's introduction, this one is not quite certain he will be of much help to you.. these are not things this one are very familiar with."

Rukia frowned a little bit. Of course she knew about worlds other than her own! There was Soul Society, the hollow one where the Menos sometimes came from, and of course there was this one. But... thousands? It seemed like a lot to grasp. Maybe a little far-fetched even!

"How do we know there are thousands?" she says incredulously. "I mean, can someone go up above it all and just take a picture?" If so, she'd like to see proof! Right now!

Chuckling, Tomoe sat down against her desk as she responded to Rukia's inquiry. "Taking a photograph would make things easier, wouldn't it?" She covered her mouth with her hand, attempting to not laugh again. "There isn't much proof other than the texts and relics we've found of other worlds...and of course, the existance of the people in this very class."

Rukia rolled her eyes. She was a soldier, a realist, and exaggerations were not appreciated. Thousands meant thousands and if you went on that proof that added up to... maybe hundreds.

"There are only fifty or so people on the train," she estimates. "So that makes fifty worlds, at most, or maybe a little more if they've been to other places. But that doesn't mean thousands!"

Sighing, Ran stood in the hallway after the class ended, her PSP in hand. Patapon was fun and all, but she currently had a lot on her mind after some recent encounters...

Adding to her agitation was this school. She knew what she had to do here, but that didn't mean she couldn't do it begrudgingly. Memories of her old school suddenly popped into her mind. Despite its imperfections such as bullies and excessive homework, she enjoyed being able to learn. Sighing again, she continued playing her game with little enthusiasm.

"Yo, Ran." Kanji left the classroom and came across the girl in the hallway, but noticed that maybe something was not right with her.

"So, what did you make of that class just now? It kinda went over my head a bit... I think." He decided to make some conversation with her. A little dose of the power of friendship might be good for her, right?

His voice startled her somewhat, nearly causing her to drop her PSP. It was unlike her to be so...jumpy. But there she was, acting strangely. Mentally scolding herself for her behavior, she tried not to make eye contact with him afterward.

"The class? It wasn't the worst one in this place. ...Phys Ed was a lot worse." She replied as casually she could muster.
