Chrome

Ah, Chrome. Yes there are some new styling issues that, as a Web dev, I will now have to figure out and I hate wasting time on that crap... But for now, I have a tentative crush. Be good to me. http://www.google.com/chrome/

yeah - google's announcement came out shortly after i had spent several days beating my head against a very large and unyielding wall while i tried to unf**kup my site for IE6.

i read about chrome and got sort of crazy-eyed and looked at *s* and said sometime like - but google writes good software, right? RIGHT???

(i read a little about it tho - sounds kinda clever - guess we'll see how it pans out)

So far I am ambivalent about Chrome. So far I have found nothing in it that I like more than Firefox and I rather hate that it places its tabs above the address bar.

Indeed currently it sits in a firm 4th in my browser list behind Firefox, IE 7 (IE 8 Beta 2 looks promising), and Safari.

Indeed I see Chrome as Google being scared. Currently the most popular plugins for Firefox are NoScript and AdBlockPlus both of which prevent ads (google or otherwise) from working. IE 8 Beta 2 also has some of this built in. These combined could put a huge dent in Googles ad revenue stream. Google had to do something about this and I figure Chrome is part of the answer.
