That really does sound like about as sane an outcome as could have been hoped for. (I was talking to my ex, Paula, who's a copyright lawyer, about this a few months ago. It's pretty much the outcome she predicted.)

So I just discovered that some of the books in my university's library catalog have a "more info" link which goes to complete searchable online texts via Google Books and that is the AWESOMEST THING EVER.
