I've been using Sublime at work lately because I'm dealing with a bunch of XML-with-embedded-Javascript things, and I have to say, I really wish I just had the patience to set up multimode in Emacs because Sublime just makes me feel like I've had a lobotomy.
What stands out in that article about J. B. Watson is "despite the trappings of science, it appears Watson's advice on child-rearing in "The Psychological Care of Infant and Child" was mostly a recapitulation of the Southern Baptist attitude to children."
During my research for a series of articles I wrote in the 90s I came across studies showing that most people in the psychology profession enter college with preconceived ideas on the subject and those ideas are rarely changed even after years of education. They go through the motions required to get their degree then practice whatever they believed from the start.
This is the life story of pretty much every significant psych doc in history including Freud himself.
