I don't think I realized how strongly I bought into the idea of Miranda Rights until that fucking flood.

I don't think anyone would realize how important those are without that flood.

You were not supposed to take it seriously. Just because the flood was about truth didn't mean you would have believed me..

[He sounds annoyed] I didn't know that! I wanted you to be quiet so you wouldn't say anything else you would regret later it was the first thing I could think of.

There is no such thing as consent in a flood. Work on our right to that.

What are Miranda rights? You defined them as the right against self-incrimination, but how are they written? When are they invoked?

Miranda rights are written to protect the rights of the accused-someone put into any situation.

Guilty or not, they're fucking important. They mean people get a fair trial and they're invoked, in situations when people could potentially be wrongfully accused.

[Hoffman is trying to figure out how to phrase this so as not to get in trouble. On the other, it's no reason to get in trouble.]

I admitted that I care about Sarah Harding.

Yes to her. I told her I loved her and I do.

What happened? Nothing happened. [He sounds annoyed] Nothing happened. She made her position clear and said..

[Truth be told he's not sure what she meant by it.]

I don't know what I said.
