Hey, I've applied for a job at the kid's branch of Geos (as I'm trying to go all out in my job-hunt this year for the best available) and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this? I'd like some ideas of good and bad things about the company. it's hard to describe until you actually get here. basically, a lot about what you will experience will depend on the particular branch you go to and the type of people you're working with. i've taught at schools where there's been great co-workers awesome support from management and it was wonderful. and i've had the opposite as well.

as for kids, they are a grab bag. i've heard and experienced many horror stories about teaching kids. all in all, best to take the good with the bad when it comes to teaching kids.

This isn't me personally but I have heard of two cases from friends where people were given over 60 hour work weeks but still only paid for the 30 hour week you're supposed to have from Geos so I would be wary.

I never worked for the company personally, but I have quite a few friends that have worked for the Osaka and Takarazuka branches and all of their experiences had been horrible. Honestly I have never heard anything positive about this company.

The company is pretty intense, but my coworker is ex-GEOS and she's an excellent teacher.

GEOS has been closing schools recently (including the one I used to work at). I hear the kids' schools are doing fine though.

I didn't like teaching kids' classes at GEOS, but if you like kids then it should be fine. The material is fun and at least in normal GEOS you could come up with as many games and such as you wanted.
