Doyama

So I'm living in Osaka for a couple of months. Learning the transportation system is hard. I have a question though. Do any of you guys know how to get to Doyama from  Hirakata? I'm going to Kansai Gaidai, and i hve no idea what transportation to take to get to this place.

A good guide for transportation anywhere in Japan is hyperdia.com. You put in your start and finish stations and then it spits out five or so routes that you can take.

Well as a former person who went to Kansai Gaidai, it's only a 20 minute walk from Hirakata station. Doyama is probably one of the smaller stations near the school which is on the Keihan line (cheapest railway in Japan I think.)

But you don't really need transportation to get to KG, just learn the route and walk as most people do, it's a waste of money to take bus or even train the 2 stops to closer to the school as you still have to walk from those stops.

Yeah, I would consider buying a bike- used if possible. It's still pretty early in the semester right? (Alum here, too! What classes are you taking? :D)

My hubby went to Gaidai. He went when it was at the old campus, 20 minutes from Hirakata-shi station. The new campus is closer, but the Keihan line is still much the same apparently...

and there is no Doyama station on that line, nor seemingly anywhere else - it doesn't come up on Hyperdia. Sure you don't have the wrong reading of the station name kanji?

You're talking about the gay district near Umeda, right? I've never been there, but I do live in Osaka.

Take the Keihan all the way down to Yodoyabashi. Transfer onto the Midosuji line there and take it one stop up to Umeda. At Umeda, follow the signs for HANKYU RAILWAY.

This site should tell you the rest. :D
