Have you ever tried to fix a problem through phone customer service? In Sweden, that's often the only way to do it and how to contact companies or services or Swedish public authorities. Here's how it usually goes:
today, i'm more frustrated with trying to get help from customer service back in the states (old bank accounts, etc). i actually like the system much better here, because i have to do everything in person (mostly) and that not only makes explaining easier, but it also leaves room for the 'pity-wheedling' that helps me get so much done that otherwise would take weeks, or never happen at all. yay for human interaction!
Here in The Netherlands it's the same deal. I hate it - it's soo frustrating. Though, some companies, like insurance companies and such, have a new thing.. you can punch in your phonenumber on their website, and they will call you back right away. Still means you get to wait in queue - but at least a) you're not the one paying for the phoneminutes and b) you know for sure eventually you'll get to speak to someone heh.
Several of the customer support numbers I have to call will just clear you off without any warning or explanation.
And one is really tricky. It will say its transfering you someplace and then just go quiet for about 3 minutes before actually doing it. Hoping you'll hang up and go back into the queue I guess.
I really really hate this, as a former HD person I kept getting beaten on the head about our being a "world class help desk."
Well I got news for the folks back home, the world's customer support Bites the Big one!
