I want to visit Tunisia, particularly Tunis and Djerba, in the last week of February. Does anyone have experience with tour packages to Tunisia, or would it be better to plan my trip entirely by myself?

Dusseldorf. Last minute booking special.

I showed up at the train station, walked up to the airport, went to all 48 kiosk's. Narrowed it down to 4 possibles. Decided on Der Jerba. Left 4 hours later.

not a lot to go on...but I might be able to help.

Ask away ! :-)

Wonderful. Where did you stay, how long were you there, and which cities did you visit? What do you recommend seeing? Were you comfortable traveling by yourself? Were you able to communicate? (I don't speak French and my Arabic is limited to the daily prayers and "hello, how are you?")

If you are female, I don't recommend going to Tunisia by yourself. You will be hassled constantly, and I mean constantly. I have been all over Tunisia, did it on my own with my travel book. It's not that hard to get around.

ya but compared to morocco (from what i've heard) tunisia is ok for women. and i hung out with a japanese woman who was travelling alone (I'm asian, so i got a lot of "attention") i never felt threatened, but it was ok.

plus he's a guy

i still recommend tunisia!

i went to tunisia and it was incredibly easy to travel around casually. i would just go plan it myself, and half the fun is travelling around from city to city in louages.

Went to Tunisia with Ibusz last year, and to Jordania with Jordan Tours last January. Both were fun.

Can you tell me about your experience with Ibusz?

With Ibusz I always got what they promised, except one time, when we had a little problem with accomodations in Prague, but then we got an instant refund within two hours. So I would say they have been a very good experience for me.
