the way the songs and the words own the beating of our hearts.

i think i bitch about this every time an album i'm excited about leaks/is about to be released (i definitely remember being annoyed by it for pretty. odd. and the glass passenger), but nonetheless, people who wig out about "spoilers" for music are ridic. omg, clearly if you see a few lines of lyrics it's going to ruin the album. O.o

right? and i mean...it's MUSIC. it's not like with tv or movies or books, where there's some kind of plot twist to give away. O.o

I think some people just want to approach the song with a fresh eye, untainted by preconceptions. Lyrics and how they turn out in the song can be two very different things. And if you're waiting for the actual album and don't want to listen to mediocre streams...

But I'd say there is such a thing is reasonable expectations. And if you're that bothered, stay away from the internets.

i can understand wanting to wait to listen, and not wanting to listen to a stream, or...whatever. but, like...a few lines of lyrics on a graphic or whatever? not something to get upset about.

gaphics, I get less. But when you read just a bit of the lyrics, you think about them. Their meaning, how they fit into the song, how they will sound.

Some people prefer to approach music with a more or less virgin (*snerk*) mind, I guess.

But I'm also guessing that the majority of people are just wanking for the hell of wanking.
It wouldn't be fandom without it.

for serious! I get the appeal of listening to an album with no expectations, but I also know it's fucking stupid to poke around the internet in places where there will inevitably be information about that album, and then complain about it.
