He doesn’t realise he’s stopped talking until Baekhyun’s hand searches for comfort and finds his in the dark.
Baekhyun’s fingers are cool and far too fragile in Kris’ overly large palm. It feels wrong and Kris’ chest constricts at the gesture. He doesn’t deserve Baekhyun’s trust and affection but he quickly dampens the guilt. It’s something that Kris has taught himself to do and Kris almost has it perfect this time.

Almost.His lips still twitch when Baekhyun squeezes a little harder but he carries on anyway

Kris had been below ground and Tao was supposed to be with him, going through the Korean pronunciations of their rap. But after bickering over something as trivial as the showers the night before, the unresolved tension between them had Tao in dance practice and sticking to Sehun like glue

At that moment, Kris wanted to throw up again because he didn’t know how to tell Baekhyun that it was all a lost cause without crushing his hopes and describing the devastation that only he could see
