Kai is the most recent mutant to awaken, and as cerebro tips off the good guys. The brotherhoods already on their way. With each group vying hard, kai has a choice to make.

Luhan is sitting at his desk with his eyes closed and thoughts elsewhere when Chanyeol comes bursting through the doors. Luhan opens his eyes to stare at the sunglasses-clad teenager, who must have run through the quad because he is tracking the fresh mud from this morning’s rain on Luhan’s prized Turkish rugs. He bites on his cheek, uses one of his own techniques to calm himself down, and presses his fingers together.

“What is it, Chanyeol-ah?” he asks, and Chanyeol looks surprised. Typically Luhan would just connect to him, latch himself into Chanyeol’s head (and it isn’t hard-he isn’t a block like some people can be) and communicate like the little voice in his head. It has been pretty useful for the team, like when Chanyeol had almost broken the whole academy when he was wrought with depression over Baekhyun’s “death”, or the first time Chanyeol had awoken and almost had blown up his whole school with those very powerful eyes of his.

Xiumin always hated when they were dispatched. Sure, Kris could fucking fly anywhere he wanted to, and Tao could do all those fancy flips and shit that would get him there faster (added that he could stop time, so he could just take his time and it wouldn’t matter). He didn’t get a plane or a bike or anything that could get him there, so most of the time he would just try to run there fast enough. If Kris could get a fancy hat that cost them part of their pay, why couldn’t Xiumin get a bicycle at least

Sehun never liked doing these ones. And by “these ones” he meant he didn’t like reaching a newly awakened mutant and figuring out that the other team was already there. By the awestruck expression on the boy’s face, it was obvious that they hadn’t been there for long before they showed up. And by ‘them’, it was just Tao, an older mutant that could stop time that Sehun had to fight relatively often (but maybe that was because Tao just enjoyed picking on him) and Kris, the ringleader. It was a couple more minutes before the tiny snowman called Xiumin finally showed up. Five to three seemed like a pretty good ratio if they needed to fight

And yet, the soothing voice told him that they could become allies with these people, the people who shunned them away. He would train, he would learn how to use his powers for good, and soon, people would start loving mutants like him. There was no point in trying to gain control, because fear was ten times worse than being accepted, even if you were in power

And I like that little jealousy of Sehun. And the elusive Jongdae.

awwwh this was really cute i love x-men!aus how both team are fighting for kai and he's like "voice?" and then at kris's failed persuasion but its cute how he waits for luhan to finish his telepathic thing before he goes persuading kai
it was really cute to read in xiumin's pov as well hoe hr was complaining to kris lol kris pls buy a plane let the guy rest will ya with all the money you spend on shopping for hats and clothes and all that + laysoo
chanyeol is clingy to luhan and chen and lol chen switches sides easily and i spot baekchen + baekxing + chensoo (soo is keen on fighting against chen except he has to play 'mama')
