The door creaked open, causing Chanyeol to raise his head up and look towards the door. Baekhyun stuck his head in, his usual smile gone. “Hey, ass crack, Luhan's taking me to the doctor,” he informed.
Chanyeol creased his brows, unaware of the situation. “Why?”
“I haven't been feeling well and I'm pretty sure it’s not the fish dinner you made a few nights ago,” Baekhyun mumbled with pursed lips.
Chanyeol paused. “So Luhan's taking you?”
Baekhyun nodded. “We'll be back before dinner. Don't cook-in, incase this is because of you.”
Sighing, Chanyeol nodded, standing up from his chair and walking over to the door. “No driving. Sit in the passenger seat.”
Stepping into the room momentarily, Baekhyun padded inside, giving Chanyeol a quick hug. “I solemnly swear that I will not drink alcohol when my appointment is done.”
“Better not,” Chanyeol mumbled before stealing a quick kiss on the brunet's cheek. “Hopefully you just have gas, right?”
With the moment ruined, Baekhyun thrusted his fist into Chanyeol's stomach, backing away from the embrace. “I'm not gross! It's not gas!”
Regretting his words, Chanyeol put a hand on the spot Baekhyun punched as he watched his small fiancé exit. “Idiot...”

Chanyeol didn't expect much for when Baekhyun would return. Maybe the doctor would provide some pills for whatever Baekhyun was feeling. But as the evening rolled by and he heard the front door shut, like every time Baekhyun walked through the doors, it was a different scenario from what he imagined.
Getting up from the kitchen bar stool, Chanyeol went over to greet the brunet, only to be graced with Baekhyun bursting into tears. Even Luhan, who was following behind, seemed surprised. Before Chanyeol could even approach, Baekhyun dropped his backpack and ran to his room.
“What the hell happened to him?” Chanyeol asked angrily at the maid, who gave him a shrug, but no information. Cursing under his breath, Chanyeol ran after his scurrying fiancé only to be met with a door that was completely locked. The sound of crying was clear to Chanyeol's ears and nothing tore him up more inside. Curling his hands into fists, he pounded on the door.
“Baek! Baekhyun, open the door!” Chanyeol pleaded, voice strained. “What happened!? What'd they say?”
“Go away...” Chanyeol heard the smaller command, but didn't heed. “Baekhyun, what's wrong? Tell me what's wrong and open the door.”
After that, Baekhyun failed to respond with anything but muffled cries and sniffles, leaving the door locked and Chanyeol waiting outside. For thirty minutes, Chanyeol sat outside in silence, hopelessly listening to Baekhyun's turmoil inside the room. He had a key to the room, but he figured that Baekhyun locked it for a reason. Opting to stay outside, he gave glances to his workers who came by to see if everything was alright or if Baekhyun had opened the door for him.
Luhan had gone by to explain all that he knew; that he had dropped Baekhyun off and waited in the parking lot for him to finish. When Baekhyun had come out, he looked hollow, but never said a word to him except for “let’s go home...” and spent the ride in silence.
“I don’t know what they told him,” Luhan told the giant staring up at him from the floor. “I'm sorry.”
With nothing to say, yet understanding, Chanyeol nodded and dismissed the maid, going back to leaning against Baekhyun's door.
Two hours went by, but Chanyeol never left. Even as Baekhyun's crying subsided, he sat there, with a burden on his shoulders. He felt gutted not knowing what the hell was wrong with his short brunet. His head was racked with all the worst case scenarios possible. By the end of it all, Chanyeol had never stared at his bedroom door across the hall for that long.
Finally, when it had gotten dark and only silence was heard from within, Baekhyun cracked his door open, startling Chanyeol to rise up. With his heart beating fast, Chanyeol looked the short male over as if to search for signs of illness. “Baek-”
“I'm hungry,” was all the brunet said. “I want food.”
Noticing the way Baekhyun avoided his eyes, Chanyeol's anxiety wasn't lifted. “Are you okay?”
Nodding, Baekhyun stepped out of his room. “What's for dinner?” he mumbled, slowly walking past Chanyeol's guard. “I want something hot...”
Chanyeol gritted his teeth, but followed the slow male anyhow. “It's vegetable soup-Baekhyun, what happened?” He reached for him, but Baekhyun shook him off.
“I want cereal, too... and a piece of bread...”
Frowning, Chanyeol sped up. “Baekhyun, stop avoiding me. What happened at the doctor's?”
Baekhyun shook his head. “Nothing.”
“It's not nothing!” Chanyeol argued, stopping in his tracks. “I sat outside your room for two hours listening to you cry! It's not nothing!”
“I don't want to talk about it,” Baekhyun curtly said, voice small.
“Baekhyun-”
When Chanyeol tried to touch his hand, Baekhyun quickly moved away, turning around and finally looking up at the giant in the eye. It was then that Chanyeol realized that he was probing on a touchy subject. Baekhyun's lips trembled, eyebrows pushed towards the center.
“I don't want to talk about it, okay?” he said with his voice wavering. “I want to eat... That's all I want to do. I want to eat, okay!?”
Nodding quickly, Chanyeol thinned his lips. “Alright, alright, you want to eat. Don't cry, we'll go eat right now.”
“I want... I want a candy bar...” Baekhyun wheezed, looking at the floor and letting Chanyeol cup his face. “I want chocolate...and bread...”
Chanyeol didn't think they had any of those, but he nodded anyways.
“I want strawberries and a bowl of salt,” Baekhyun sniffed.
Chanyeol grimaced. “Salt and strawberries? Honey, that's gross...” he teased.
“You're gross!” Baekhyun mumbled. “You and your manhood...”
Slanting his shoulders, Chanyeol curved his mouth into a small smile. “You don’t have to talk about it right now but I want to know.”
Baekhyun’s breath hitched as he hung his head. “It's not bad...kind of,” the smaller mumbled.
“'Kind of' is kinda scaring me right now,” Chanyeol sighed. “But like I said...Later.”

Dinner started off awkward since Baekhyun didn't talk to anyone and he was usually the life of the table. He ate what Kyungsoo served, but he proceeded to raid the pantry afterwards. He collected all the chocolate and nutty snacks that he could find, and when Kai questioned him, he dropped all his findings on the floor and started to form tears, whining and genuinely bothered by Kai's “Why're you eating like a cow?” comment.
As Baekhyun quickly picked up his chocolate, Chanyeol threw daggers in Kai's direction before offering to help Baekhyun find more. When they found all the chocolate that they could (as far as Baekhyun knew), Chanyeol helped him carry everything to their bedroom. Once inside, Baekhyun sat on the floor and began peeling the sweets, slowly eating them in his mouth like a depressed sloth.
Chanyeol sat on the bed, watching him as he wallowed in calories. After a while, he asked if he could eat one, to which Baekhyun said yes.

When they went to bed that night, Baekhyun's mood hadn't changed. Chanyeol still thought of him as fragile and easily breakable. As they lied in bed, Chanyeol was curious as to what it was that was breaking his fiancé down. He didn't know if it was an illness or not. The mere thought of Baekhyun being terminal scared him, making him unconsciously hold onto Baekhyun tighter that night than any other.
Neither of them slept as both were fully aware that the other was still wide awake. Then, out of the blue, Chanyeol heard Baekhyun's small and strained voice ask him, “Would I make a good parent?”
Chanyeol's lips curved upwards at the thought of the two of them being parents, but he let out a small laugh. “You and kids? That'd be a disaster, don't you think?” he lightly teased.
Baekhyun made a quiet noise before scooting his way away from Chanyeol, creating a small, yet significant distance between them. “Okay...” he said quietly in a wavering voice that seemed fragile. “I understand.”
When Chanyeol tried to pull him back in, Baekhyun curled up, not allowing the giant to do so. “Baek, what’re you doing?” Chanyeol asked softly.
“I'm hot...” Baekhyun gave as an excuse.
“Want me to open a wind-”
“No, then I'll be cold... This is fine the way we are,” he said.
“Are you gonna come scoot closer, at least?” Chanyeol asked.
“No, it's fine,” Baekhyun mumbled. “I'm okay. I like it this way.”
Knowing that the brunet was just being evasive in their case, Chanyeol sighed and moved his way closer, closing the space between them instead. Resting his chin just above the top of Baekhyun's head, he felt the brunet tense under his touch and it bothered him to a point.
“What're you thinking?” Chanyeol asked after a while.
For a few minutes, Baekhyun didn't answer, letting the silence sit. “I'm thinking about ... food and-”
“No, you're not,” Chanyeol sighed. “Try again.”
“Nugget-”
“Baek-”
“My baby-”
“I know we're not talking about the dog, Baek,” Chanyeol gently argued back. “Just tell me.”
“I would make a bad parent, wouldn't I?” Baekhyun suddenly piped. “I'd be horrible. What am I going to teach them? Color coordination? How to pick out cardigans?”
“Hey, idiot, I didn't mean-”
“I'd probably forget to pick them up from school. Or feed them. I'd probably accidentally kill them.”
“Baekhyun, I'm sure that you'll be-”
“A terrible parent...” Baekhyun finished, muttering his response. “I'm not good with kids.”
“You're good with Nugget,” Chanyeol pointed out.
“He's overweight-you say he's overweight!” Baekhyun said, agitated. “I'll make the kids obese!”
“Stop being overly dramatic,” Chanyeol soothed. “I didn't mean it. You'd make an adorable parent no matter how much of a bitch you are.”
“That's not very comforting...” Baekhyun said quietly.
“Well, being left in the dark about what the doctor said about you isn’t comforting.”
“I'm fine. I'm not sick,” Baekhyun confessed.
“Then what's wrong with you? Why were you crying?”
“I felt like it.”
“Nobody just feels like crying,” Chanyeol argued. “I don't like hearing you cry so I need to know what it was that made you cry tonight.”
“I'm just tired,” Baekhyun put out. “They said I was just tired and that maybe I should just rest. That's it.”
“So you cried because...?”
“I cried because I was tired...and then I got hungry...That's it, alright? I told you it was nothing...”
“You’re not lying?" Chanyeol checked.
“You want the doctor's note? Too bad. He forgot to write it,” Baekhyun mumbled. “But that's what they told me.”
“Are you sure-”
“Yes, I'm sure!” Baekhyun turned his head, shoving his face on the pillow. “I'm fine,” his muffled voice insisted. “I’m fine, I’m fine.”
“There's nothing else to tell me?” Chanyeol asked, gently stroking the top of Baekhyun's head.
“No...Nothing that's important...”

Baekhyun's mood remained the same until a few days passed and he was back to his normal self. However, when they were alone, he refused to drink alcohol, opting for milk or orange juice because apparently it was the healthy way to go. Chanyeol didn't mind this change until, all of a sudden, Baekhyun didn't want to have sex despite the mood being perfect.
“Why not?” he had asked.
“I don't feel well,” Baekhyun had replied.
That was Baekhyun's excuse for everything. At first Chanyeol gave him his space but as weeks passed, the excuse never changed.
“I feel like I have to keep asking you what's wrong” Chanyeol muttered one night as they lied on the bed. “Is there something wrong with me? Am I suddenly unappealing to you?”
“No, I still want to drive your meat thermometer inside of me. It's just that...” Baekhyun paused. “I'm not sure if I can have sex with you at the moment… I haven't googled it yet.”
-
-
Afterwards, Chanyeol let Baekhyun be. Weeks passed and it was back to the usual, but minus the sex. Everyone seemed to have forgotten Baekhyun's break down that day except for Chanyeol who would sometimes watch the brunet from his office window do backflips.
With Baekhyun no longer the maid, he found himself dilly dallying with useless things. Extreme stunts was one of them. Nugget was his dad's biggest fan, following him around when they'd run along the water together.
Chanyeol didn't approve of it. To occupy Baekhyun, he had a floating deck built not too far from shore, but somewhat regretted it. At times, he would see Baekhyun doing every back bending jump possible off the raft and every time it would give the brunet’s fiancé a heart attack.
He also noticed Baekhyun's sudden change in diet which consisted of fruit and no longer junk food that he used to indulge in. A month went by and maybe Baekhyun's sense of style went to hell, but Chanyeol’s fiancé began to wear looser things.
Kyungsoo started to act slightly weird around him and Chanyeol didn't get the answer he wanted when he asked why.
“This is all your fault.”
Before Chanyeol could defend himself against the accusation based on something he didn't know of, Kyungsoo went away.
-
-
One time when Baekhyun came back from his morning run, he brought in with him a collection of rocks he found on his jog.
“They're so beautiful,” Baekhyun reasoned as Chanyeol watched him arrange them all on his window sills. “Kind of like children.”
“You're going to keep pet rocks” the giant said.
“My rock children. All of them,” Baekhyun said possessively.
“There's sand all over the house now.”
“Sand is actually made up of tiny rocks. More kids for me,” Baekhyun hummed.
“What is with you and the children thing?” Chanyeol asked, crossing his arms. “It's ridiculous.”
Baekhyun stopped. “You think it's ridiculous?”
“Kind of-”
“Get out. Make me a sandwich and leave it at my door,” Baekhyun mumbled. “I don't want to see you.”
“I didn't mean to offend your rock collection,” Chanyeol sighed, leaning against the door way.
“Well you have and I don't want to see your face,” Baekhyun said as a matter-of-factly. “And I'm not hungry, but make me something anyways.”
Chanyeol rubbed his temple as he watched the brunet’s back. “You're mad over rocks-”
“I'm not mad over rocks. I'm mad at you.”
“Baek-”
“You know what? Never mind,” Baekhyun grumbled, setting his rocks down and standing up straight. “I have places to be, Mr. Park!”
“Really? Where?” Chanyeol challenged. “Going rock hunting again?”
Baekhyun frowned, glaring up at the giant in a childish manner. “Yeah! Rock hunting for a different rock on my finger, you twat!” he yelled, running past Chanyeol's guard against the door.
Rolling his eyes, Chanyeol groaned as he followed at a walking pace, assuming that Baekhyun had ran off to the kitchen. However, when he got there, the brunet wasn't present and neither was his dog. The next thing he knew, Chanyeol heard the garage door rise open.
Cursing under his breath, he went over to doorway to the garage only to see Baekhyun on his bike with Nugget in basket. “Where do you think you're going, muffin?” Chanyeol asked, being sarcastically sweet.
“Nowhere near a person who doesn't appreciate the natural erosion of Mother Nature's solid materials like you!” Baekhyun huffed.
“Mother Nature made rocks, Chanyeol!” the brunet went on, looking sad. “She made rocks and she loves her rocks... A lot... Oh, but where's Father Nature?! Probably off jerking around because he didn't like rocks! Father Nature was a man whore!”
“Baekhyun, what the hell are you saying?” Chanyeol sighed.
Nugget watched on as the two humans argued.
“I'm saying, that if Father Nature didn't make fun of Mother Nature and her rocks, maybe she wouldn't curse us with bad weather!”
Before Chanyeol could comment on Baekhyun's new nature interpretations, Baekhyun started pushing his bike out of the garage.
Chanyeol growled. “At least wear your helmet!”
“Screw your helmet!” Baekhyun yelled as he pedaled away. “Power to my body!”
For a minute, Chanyeol contemplated whether or not he wanted to go after the idiot but he figured that the brunet needed his space again.

It wasn't until the sun went down that Chanyeol regretted his decision. He tried to call Baekhyun's phone but the short stout had left it at home. Baekhyun arrived back at the house at around nine and it took all that Chanyeol had in him to hold back and not throttle the guy.
“So, I kinda fell off my bike,” Baekhyun said on the steps of the house as he ignored Chanyeol glare and proceeding walked right in. “I fell off, but I only scratched my elbow. Nugget is fine. And then I couldn't figure out how to put the chains back on the bike...”
“And so,” Baekhyun said as he walked to the kitchen, “I hitch hiked to town. I got in a van with these two guys,” he went on, oblivious to Chanyeol's face, “who were like 'hey let's stop here for a sec'.”
“I was there thinking 'why would they want to stop here? It's a forest?' Right?” Baekhyun rhetorically asked. “It was kind of scary but I thought, no, two hot guys wouldn't want to harm me, right?”
“I was wrong!” he suddenly exclaimed, pointing at Chanyeol. “Turns out, they wanted to have sex!”
Chanyeol flared. “Baekhyun!”
“But I politely declined to what I thought were potential rapists,” Baekhyun continued on in a calmer tone, “and I said, ‘sirs, I just want to get back home. I’m not interested in sex as of the moment.’.”
Chanyeol couldn't believe what he was hearing. Either Baekhyun had been close to being abducted or he was lying seamlessly.
“Then they asked me if I was sure, wink wink nudge nudge, right?” Baekhyun took a bite out of his bread slice. “And I said yes- But anyways, they went off to the woods and I sat in the car waiting for them,” he explained, taking a seat on a stool.
“I'm sorry, but let me interrupt,” Chanyeol angrily said. “You fell off your bike, got in a van with rapists, and waited for them to get back?”
“Pretty much, except they explained that they were-”
“Are you fucking stupid?!” Chanyeol shouted. “What the hell were you thinking?! You ran, right?! You ran all the way back here?!”
“No, I told you I waited-”
“Oh my god, Baekhyun! Are you that naive?! Do we need to go file a fucking report?!” Chanyeol snapped. “Are there lingering kidnappers and murderers around here?”
“Calm down! Nothing happened!” Baekhyun cried defensively.
“Oh, calm down, nothing happened my ass! I'm not stupid!” Chanyeol bit.
“Are you implying that I'm stupid?” Baekhyun replied. “Because I'm not. I just know people.”
“No, Baek, you're naive as hell.”
Frowning, Baekhyun glanced away for a moment before setting his half eaten bread on the counter and standing up to leave. “Where are you going?” Chanyeol spat angrily. “I'm not done with you, Baekhyun!”
“Too bad because I'm done with you!”
“Baekhyun-”
“They were exihibitionists!” Baekhyun cried, turning around to face Chanyeol. “They said so themselves. They were half naked when I met them, but you know that nudity never bothers me,” he adamantly defended. “They told me this when we stopped by the woods. Doing it in the woods was something they wanted to do before they decided to pick me up so what the hell? Fine! I was okay with it. It wasn't like I participated. So I waited in their car until they finished, which kind of took a few hours, but hell, it's sex. I bet it was dicktastic.”
“Then I didn't get to town until later and I had to beg the shop to take my bike in after hours and wait for a freaking cab all the while my elbow was bleeding!” Baekhyun stood there, fists shaking despite how his features seemed more upset and sad than angry.
“If you're going to call me naive and stupid,” he said in quieter voice, “then I don't know what I'm doing here with you...”
-
-
Baekhyun ended up sleeping outside that night even though Chanyeol constantly apologized and asked him to return to the house. Truth of the matter was that Baekhyun liked how the ocean drowned out his crying. It reminded him how insignificant his problems were compared to the world around him.
The thing that Chanyeol found annoying was how the very next morning, Baekhyun let on like nothing happened the night before.
-
-
“I'm not eating,” Baekhyun said pushing his plate away. “I'm on a diet.”
Kyungsoo frowned. “Like hell you are,” and forced the brunet to eat.
-
-
Even though Baekhyun liked to pretend that night never happened, Chanyeol couldn't get it out of his head.
“I'm sorry,” he finally said as he caught Baekhyun in the kitchen before the short male’s morning run. “I didn't mean it... any of it.”
“It's okay.”
“It's not okay” Chanyeol argued. “I was angry at you because...what the hell, you got into a car with strangers!”
“The world is full of strangers! Sometimes nude strangers,” Baekhyun replied. “Need I remind you of the morning wood you had when I met y-”
“I was worried you'd get kidnapped!”
“I'm sorry? Am I a ghost? Because I'm pretty sure I came back in one piece not pieces,” Baekhyun said.
Chanyeol opened his mouth but closed it, opting that he was supposed to be apologizing, not arguing. “I'm sorry. I judged too quickly, I didn't know what I was saying.”
Sighing, Baekhyun shrugged. “It's okay. You're dumb anyways.”
“I'm apologizing. Do you accept?” Chanyeol muttered.
“Wow! Apologizing cave man style, I see,” Baekhyun snorted. “You. Man. Sorry. Me. Accept.”
Chanyeol grinned, leaning down to kiss the brunet on the cheeks as an apology, but Baekhyun pushed his face away. “I don't kiss prehistoric figures.”
“Then what do you kiss?”
“People that fit my sexual needs,” Baekhyun said biting his lips. “Anyways, gotta run-like seriously.”
Frowning, Chanyeol tilted his heads. “What? A month and three weeks with no sex and suddenly I don't fit your needs.”
“Oh, no,” Baekhyun laughed, patting Chanyeol's chest, “you fit per say, but I'm already full of you. I'm gonna make like a priest, now.”
“You mean-”
“Celibacy!” Baekhyun giggled. “Fun times, no?”
“No, not fun!”
“Well... Sex is stress. It's four letters away, at least.” Baekhyun justified.
Chanyeol looked at him for a long time, not allowing him to leave through the back door just yet. “You never told me about what happened at the doctors that day...” he said solemnly. “I still want to know.”
“Well” Baekhyun said, slowly sliding the door open. “They just told me some minor things.” Stepping outside onto the deck, he walked backwards as he shrugged at Chanyeol. “Just some stuff about body changes and hormones.”
Seeing that Baekhyun was about to walk off the edge, Chanyeol’s eyes widened. “Hey, stop-”
“And the doctor said that it was all because I-”
Suddenly, Baekhyun foot touched air and he fell back, falling on the hard concrete steps below, the sand and long grass not helping his fall. Jumping into action, Chanyeol ran outside and hopped off the deck to help the groaning body on the ground.
While Chanyeol was repeatedly cursing, Baekhyun just groaned and said, “I fell off the deeeck.”
“You're an idiot! Watch where you're walking backwards! You could've gotten hurt!” Chanyeol angrily lectured, whacking the sand off Baekhyun’s bottom. “No more walking backwards! You obviously can’t handle it!”
“I'm fine. It’s just a few bruises. Not enough to give myself a home abortion,” Baekhyun said, rubbing his neck until Chanyeol finished with his childish disciplining.
At the words, Chanyeol frowned and paused. “What? What'd you say?”
Baekhyun blinked at him and shrugged. “I don't know. I'm pregnant and I fell off the deck, and do you think we still have peanut butter because I want some when I get back.”
Chanyeol stared at the brunet who was day dreaming of peanut butter goodness despite having just given him a heart attack with that fall. “Backtrack...”
Baekhyun looked at him. “Peanut butter?”
“Before that,” Chanyeol clarified.
“Home abortion-which are really not that fun, I've heard. Quite painful and bloody.”
“After the abortion part,” Chanyeol said, losing patience.
“Pregnant?” Baekhyun tried.
“You're pregnant.”
“Have been for some time, actually,” Baekhyun said, rubbing his bruised elbow. “I have a turkey leg in my oven. I think it's right here.” Lifting up his shirt, the brunet pointed at his lower section, puffing his cheeks up with air. “The baby factory. One at a time.”
Chanyeol tilted his head as if he didn’t hear it correctly. “I'm sorry, but you're pregnant.”
“Doctor said so,” Baekhyun said. “Anyways, my run-”
“You’re pregnant.“
Baekhyun stared at him. “Rocks...”
“YOURE PREGNANT!?”
Pouting-and tired of Chanyeol’s repetition-Baekhyun turned around to begin walking towards the ocean. “Bye.”
Grabbing Baekhyun by the wrist, Chanyeol pulled him back. “You're pregnant.”
“Yes! The constant pounding of your dick has turned me into a human factory!” Baekhyun whined. “I have to go-”
“Let me get this straight, Byun Baekhyun,” Chanyeol said, almost hysterically that it was amusing for the brunet to watch. “You're pregnant and you've been doing stunts, jumping off high places, riding the bike with no helmet and getting into cars with strangers.”
“Yes, actually.”
Chanyeol's mouth went into a thin line as he ran his hand through his hair. “You could've injured the baby!”
“I mean, it's in five layers of fat. It'll be fine,” Baekhyun laughed. “I'm okay.”
“And you didn't tell me,” Chanyeol snapped angrily. “I'm the father and you didn't even tell me!”
“What's there to tell?” Baekhyun said casually. “It's just a baby... You don't even want kids anyways-”
“Who the hell said I didn't want-”
“You.”
“I said-”
“'No that would be a disaster'“ Baekhyun replayed.
“You're taking things out of context!” Chanyeol said.
“Well you should've taken your dick out so we wouldn't be talking about context!”
Frustrated, Baekhyun kicked sand up at Chanyeol's feet. “All of this is your fault! All of it! Nothing's my fault!”
“Are you seriously-Baekhyun, you're not going on a run right now!” Chanyeol yelled as Baekhyun ran away anyways.
“It's your fault I didn't tell you!” the brunet said loudly. “Not my fault you didn't want rocks! All of it! You! Here, I am guilt free!”
“Fuck.” Running, Chanyeok chased the jogging brunet until he turned around and saw that he was being pursued.
“Leave me alone!” Baekhyun cried.
“Excuse me!? I just found out that you're pregnant after a month of you not telling me!” Chanyeol yelled. “So screw you!”
“You've already screwed me and that's why I'm churning babies!” Baekhyun whined, running faster. “Go home before I leave you!”
Chanyeol breathlessly laughed. “With a baby half mine, I've got parental rights so run away all you want!”
“You're such a dictator!”
Scowling, Chanyeol picked up his pace in order to catch up, but then Baekhyun tripped on a piece of drift wood that was barely popping out of the sand. Whimpering and pushing to get on his knees, Baekhyun’s first thought was that sand was in his mouth and that he needed to get it out.
Using his arm, he tried to wipe the sand out. “Ith in ma mouf, Yol,” he tried to say.
Locking his jaw, Chanyeol refused to comment as he swooped down and took Baekhyun up in his arms. As he carried the brunet back to the house, Baekhyun continually licked himself until he was satisfied. Then he took care of his hands and wiped them on Chanyeol’s chest.
“That kind of hurt,” he remarked afterwards. “We need to clean the beach, Yeol. What if Nugget found that? He would skidded and-”
Stopping just before the steps up the deck, Chanyeol finally spared Baekhyun an angry, yet concerned, look. “I’m sorry, but is the dog the one that’s pregnant? No.”
Baekhyun blinked. “Why’re you mad? I just took a small tumble-”
“You’re unbelievable, I swear to god,” Chanyeol muttered curtly before carrying the small male up the stairs and back inside the house. “You have the audacity to not tell me that you were carrying my kid for an entire month-almost two months, actually-and have the balls to endanger it at whatever chance you got.”
Frowning, Baekhyun started to struggle out of the hold, but Chanyeol’s grip tightened, making him wince and stop. “Hey, twat, you’re going to bruise me. I’m pregnant so be gentle.”
Chanyeol practically kicked their bedroom door open after Baekhyun’s remark. And although all he wanted to do was thrust him onto the bed, he made sure Baekhyun made a soft landing. Going back to close the door, Chanyeol used the time to count to ten and calm down a notch.
“Okay, how about this? Let’s start over,” he said, clicking on the lock. Turning around, he watched as Baekhyun made eye contact with him only to flip over and bury his face into the mattress. “You came into my office and said you weren’t feeling well. Luhan took you to the doctor. Then you came back home crying. This is check point number one. Why were you crying?”
Chanyeol sat on the edge of the bed, looking down at the brunet who refused to roll over. When Baekhyun continued to stay silent, Chanyeol sighed and forced him to roll over. Then their eyes met again; Baekhyun’s sarcastic force gone.
“I cried because I was pregnant.”
For a moment, Chanyeol felt let down at the thought of Baekhyun disliking the thought that he had his child inside of him. Pressing down the feeling, Chanyeol pushed on. “Because why? It’s disgusting?” he said, unable to keep some bitterness from slipping.
Baekhyun shook his head. “No. I just…I didn’t want to be pregnant.”
Chanyeol looked away as he bitterly laughed. “I’m sorry. Is finding out that you’re having my kid really that bad?”
Bringing his eyebrows together, Baekhyun pursed his lips. “No, it’s not because of you. I wasn’t even thinking about that, you twat, so shut up,” he mumbled. “I’m just the least fit person to have a kid. That’s all. Are we done?”
“No, we’re not,” Chanyeol said as he breathed a sigh of relief. “Explain yourself. Why?”
“At the time,” Baekhyun started, knowing that he wasn’t going to get far with anything if he didn’t answer Chanyeol, “I thought that I wouldn’t be any good. What if it’d grow up to hate me? I mean, look, you twat, look at this.” Spreading his legs, the brunet demonstrated. “I’ve got legs that spread on command.”
Clicking his tongue, Chanyeol leaned over and slapped him on the thighs. “Stop that. No, you don’t.”
“Used to.”
“Stop it and don’t even think about it,” Chanyeol groaned. “You’re not like that-except for me, but that’s a given.”
Baekhyun put his legs down and stared at the ceiling. “Well, I guess. But who knows? I just thought that maybe if they ever found out about me and my cock-loving ways-”
“Baekhyun,” Chanyeol said in a warning voice.
“I mean, my ‘loving’ days,” he corrected, “that maybe they wouldn’t like me anymore… When I found out my mother was a classy whore, I was blown away in awe, but maybe this little peanut in here won’t be the same.”
Sighing, Chanyeol lied on the bed as well, leaning next to Baekhyun. “I’m sure that if you raise it right, it’ll love you unconditionally, alright? Besides, it should be happy that it’s my peanut and not somebody else’s.”
“Ah, yes, son, your father is a 6ft brute,” Baekhyun softly mumbled. “Being sweet doesn’t fit you.”
“Well, I’m sorry, then,” Chanyeol snorted. After a short while, he asked, “So why’d you keep it from me?”
“Well, here’s the deal,” Baekhyun said as the pace of his words picked up. “I was all sad, correct? Then you told me I’d be horrible. For some reason, I was really offended even though I agreed with you. I would make a terrible parent, Chanyeol. Just you wait.”
“Baek-”
“Anyways, there I was. Offended,” Baekhyun continued, ignoring Chanyeol. “So I kept it from you and decided that I was going to have the baby alone without even telling you. Then I would raise it and when I’m ready, I would show him or her off to you just to prove that I’m not so bad after all.”
Chanyeol kept silent for a second. “You planned… on keeping your pregnancy a secret… for nine months.”
“Pretty much.”
“Do you realize that I would’ve known by the time you were bulging by the belly and antsy because of hormone overload?” Chanyeol asked, incredulously.
“No, I would’ve worn baggy clothing.”
“Are you shitting me...”
“I shit you not,” Baekhyun said in a serious voice.
“You’re unbelievable. I would’ve known from the moment you started showing, Baekhyun,” Chanyeol said, turning his head to see that Baekhyun was looking at him as well. “I love touching your body. Don’t you think I would feel something different down there?”
“Not if I slept in the other room.”
“Oh my god.”
“I know. I had it all planned out,” Baekhyun laughed. Patting Chanyeol’s cheek, he smiled. “I’m not stupid.”
“I know you’re not.”
“I’m just pregnant.”
“Yes, you are.”
When Baekhyun started to pull away, Chanyeol took his hand in his. “No more stunts.”
“But-”
“No more backflips,” Chanyeol went on. “No more jumping off the platform in the water or having underwater contests with yourself. I don’t want you drowning and babies need oxygen. Plus, I’m not always out there to watch over you and neither are the others. Nugget doesn’t count as a person. He’ll only be a witness to your death.”
“He’d make a fine witness,” Baekhyun added.
“Sure,” Chanyeol said, rolling his eyes. “As for you bike, you need to start wearing your helmet. I didn’t argue with you for two days on its custom design just for you to not wear it at all. If not, I’m putting oversized training wheels on it.”
“Can you customize those, too-”
“I’m buying your dog a little side car for your bike. I don’t need that fat runt throwing off your balance by sitting in the basket,” Chanyeol muttered. “Also, we’re getting a new car on Saturday. We need a family friendly vehicle. My black sports, that lovely, unsafe white Cadillac from your parents, and the general SUV isn’t going to cut it. We’re moving your stuff into this room. You don’t need your own room anymore, so we’re turning that into the nursery.”
“But what if I don’t wanna be in here with you?” Baekhyun grumbled.
Sighing, Chanyeol closed his eyes. “We’ll get the basement done and make it into a loft. We can put a bed there.”
“What about my pole-”
“No,” Chanyeol said. “No more dancing until you pop our kid out.”
“Ah, kill joy.” Baekhyun sat up only to move over and get on top of Chanyeol, chest to chest. “What will I do for exercise? I get bored a lot.”
“You know I’m always here if you want to fuck,” Chanyeol offered nonchalantly.
“Can’t. I’m pregnant.”
“Oh, fun fact,” Chanyeol said as if mocking Baekhyun’s habit, “sex is a great way for pregnant people to exert energy.”
“Your dino-dick’s so long, it’s going to make a dent in its skull. Got any more ideas?”
“You can go sign up for yoga classes in town,” the giant suggested. “Grandmother tried to get me to join some classes, but it’s not a tall people thing.”
“Lovely,” Baekhyun grinned. Reaching over his gave Chanyeol a sloppy kiss before getting up. “Well, this was great. I’m going to go eat something-”
Before Baekhyun could escape and leave the room, Chanyeol called him back as he slowly rose up from the bed, sitting lazily on the edge.
“Baek?”
Turning around, Baekhyun raised his brow. “Yeah?”
“You wouldn’t make a terrible parent. That’s just my opinion,” the giant said, shrugging.
With a smile wobbling on his face, Baekhyun glanced away. “Thanks…”
He started for the door again, but stopped. Quickly, he turned on his heel and went back, attacking Chanyeol back on the bed, straddling him. Before Chanyeol could react, Baekhyun grabbed his face and kissed him again, this time, less sloppily. Afterwards, the brunet gave him another peck before hopping off and darting for the door.
“I’m in love with the right guy!” he cried as he ran out the door and shut it behind him, leaving Chanyeol breathless and swirling.
He lied there for a few minutes contemplating all that just happened and how his heart was reacting to it. When he was ready, he laughed to himself as he pushed himself off the bed and stood up, happy with the thought of becoming a father and starting a family with the brunet who was yelling all the way from the kitchen for some peanut butter.
