Look, normally I just watch y'all scurrying about but I'm doing this for all you Newbs out on the beach so here is the deal. Get on the other side of the wall before the sun goes down unless you want to be going all Luke and Han with the Tauntaun innards meets Evolution, not the darwin theory, the one with David Duchovny. Or you know. MIB ( Read more... )

[Nerdy, young female voice ahoy!] Jinkies you like sci-fi!

[The choice of analogy totally made her smile. Just a little, though. Getting behind the walls is way more serious and important.]

Thanks for the advice!

[Jinkies. That is so cute. His voice is amused.]

You better believe it, girl. And be careful out there, this place is no joke. The monsters here are off the chain in all the worst ways.

audio; is this day 13 or 14? the_velmster October 11 2011, 03:27:33 UTC
We'll have to talk about that later. [Nothing beats good nerd talk.]

Does death in simulation cause desynchronization with the VR software? [She pauses.] Uh. I mean, if I die... Will I leave the game?

No need to dumb in down, girl, I've got ya.

Results vary. Hard to tell. Sometimes people wake back up at the shrine when they're killed, others... well... If they left the game we have no way of knowing but there have been some pretty gruesome corpses found recently that suggest less cheerful possibilities.

All in all I would just recommend avoiding it. Getting hurt hurts just as much here as it did back home.

The shrine?

[She swallows nervously at the idea of becoming a corpse here.]

Consider me warned and advice heeded. Where's the safest place behind the walls? I don't have any weapons and I'm not exactly equipped to fight anything anyways.

[Yep, Velma might actually sound scared.]

Dormitories seem safest, far as I can tell. Stay inside at night and don't go outside the walls. So far it's been pretty safe. Not all of us here are fighters. Some of us do the background support. I can send you a file on all the creatures I have information on so far. At least what hasn't been erased over time.

[Background support. That sounds like something she can do.] The file would be appreciated. I can transfer it to a safe location, even a master hacker couldn't get to it.

[She's serious, but her voice is pleasant and she even chuckles afterwards. This girl's got tricks up her sleeve, or so she thinks.]

My name is Velma.
