(001) VIDEO. day 19, sunset

Ah.

[ A boy of an almost adolescent age (12 to be exact) peers down at his sleek new contraption looking rather bored, but unperturbed by the blustering winds around him. Aside from his blowing head of wavy silver hair, he looks rather normal as kids go, though first impressions can most definitely be deceiving. Oh yes. ]

It worked!  But this ( Read more... )

[There were so many children around here, but Sarina knew better than to underestimate their power here. He didn't seem too far off from the ages of the trolls she knew here, after all, and she knew at least one of them was adept in fighting.

Normally she ignored people's first transmissions, but something caught her interest.]

...you've been in another game? Eheh? [She tilts her head.] What kind?

[ As Killua talks, he inspects the first replier without seeming too innocuous. It was a woman, and obviously quite experienced from the way she carried herself. Maybe even someone similar to his kind... ]

Yes. It was a Hunter game called Greed Island, though it was a lot more interesting since it was adapted similar to a MMORPG.

[ And his best friend was with him, but shhh. ] But this place? It's more like a cliche horror movie, don't you think? There's not a lot of appeal to it.

[She blinked, confused. At least she was able to understand most of what he was saying, but there were still some terms unfamiliar to her.]

What's a MMORPG? Eheh?

I haven't really seen any horror movies to know the cliche, but I guess I hear about them enough from -- uh -- a "homie". But even then, all I know is that they're usually made by "douchebags". And I think there was something about subliminal messaging too, heheh...

[ Huh, deriving from the questions she asked, it seemed like she was a country bumpkin just like Gon. That guy didn't get to play any games, and it was probably the same for her. ]

To put it simply, it's a kind of game where people from anywhere can play all at once. Just like this game sucked us all into one playing session.

But "douchebags"? [ Pff. ] I think I can agree with that. Only deranged people would be able to make a crazy game like this.

[That wasn't too far off the mark, really.]

Ah...heehee -- if that's the case, how did you escape the last game you were in?

[Not that she was interested in leaving, but she knew at least a couple who were.]

Deranged, though? [She shot a subdued smile to the camera.] It's hard to say who's really the crazy ones around here.

Simple. My friend and I finished the game together, though he does get the finishing credit.

[ Good times. It seemed so long ago that he sounded like an old man. And it had only just been mere hours.

Killua smiled back. ] And you would know of these crazy ones?

Finishing credit? So that's why he didn't come along?

[A nervous twitch went through her lips, at his question.] Perhaps. Eheh. I couldn't tell you who the most insane of all is though.

Eh, knowing him he probably got lost or sidetracked. I'll just have to hunt him down, if that's the case.

[ Or the game only grabbed him and not Gon. But he's not really going to admit that just yet.

But this conversation really hit close to home. His smile still lingered knowingly. ]

Really? Because I can tell.

Are you sure he's just not here? He would have responded to your post if he was, correct?

[Sorry, but she's making the connection for you. She's just trying to be helpful, really.

Her unease seemed to grow at his second statement.]

Eheheh...really? How so?

True... that could be one possibility.

[ The Accompany card they'd been traveling by took both of them at the same time, but the game only snatched him? Lame. But probably a blessing for Gon at the same time. This game's winning chances looked slim. There was no set goals like the previous one, after all, and just that single fact made the situation all the more mysterious. ]

Well, it helps if you've been living around them your whole life. I guess you could even say I'm of the same type. I've said this to a friend before, [ He taps his nose. ] but the "smell" of them is always the same.

[ Killua proceeds to stare at her without any sign of movement. ]

[ Then he grins cheekily, as if to lift the heavy atmosphere, and rubs the back of his neck. ]

But crazy or not, just about anyone can have a bad side to them.

To be honest, what I'm really looking out for are the abilities of the other players. Like you, for instance.

You look pretty strong, lady.

The "smell" of them?

[She blinked a few times, wondering if Crying Wolf had that sort of ability as well. Really, even if she didn't think she was that close to her unitmates, Sarina found herself wondering about them a lot. Maybe she cared more than she thought she did.

On that note, she wondered what her own smell was like. Uneasily, she smiles again.]

And some crazy people aren't so bad, once you get to know them, right? Heheheh?

As for my abilities? [She paused momentarily; she always wondered how much she should reveal about herself, in situations like these, but this was survival. If people knew she was a threat, there was less of a chance they'd threaten her -- or at least that's what her logic was.]

It mostly goes hand-in-hand with my Octopus suit. Ahahaha -- I can blend in with the environment and crush my foes with my tentacles! Also, my body was enhanced to improve my combat performance, as well as having somewhat of a healing factor.

[Sarina then smirks, leaning her head against a hand.] I have a couple of other ( ... )

Yeah. Or, "aura" can work too. Just the person's atmosphere in general.

I agree, though! If they're pretty cool, I think it'd be interesting become friends.

[ Which is... pretty weird for him to say in the least. Despite his pre-assassin days, in the end he still was a kid, and making friends was what it was all about. That, and getting stronger and improving his abilities. The latter was top priority. But making friends is always a nice thought. He kicks a rock off to the side as he listens intently to her explanation. ]

Hehhh, that sounds impressive. [ He flashes back his own smirk. ] But don't mind me! I'm not dumb enough to get in the way of a girl's motives.

[ Biscuit is a rather good example of this. Rather good. ]

It's that easy for you to tell?

[She was tempted to ask him what he thought of her, but that seemed to invite all sorts of opinions that she wasn't sure if she wanted to know or not.]

What else can you do, besides sense people? Heehee? I get the impression that you can do more.
