When working a horse that is tired, you get two responses. Either they give and engage fully or they rebel (both occured last night while working with Scotty). I feel like I am in the give fully stage myself. It is nice, if not a bit like flying without any sight of the ground or tangible sensorial object to catch hold of ( Read more... )

Hey there-

Speaking of catching up, if you are still serious about visits to you in VT I have a friend I think you would like a lot. As soon as it warms up...

Until then, or until the beginning of April, 'twill be great to see you. I will call you if I somehow dig a little hole that provides a path down to NY Sat.

Thank you again for the offer!

hm...random question that is going through my head (I have mucho to write, but no time to write it. Will try to change that soon...) right now: why do so many human beings seem to be so fascinated with flying? Why is that particular thing the symbol of freedom? It is the only thing I can think of where one can freely move in three dimensions, but I might be missing something. I'm incredibly tired right now, so my brain isn't quite working. Still...how much of this fascination is purely a cultural influence, mimickery effect? Positive feedback cycle...
Nothing personal, of course. Just random thoughts...

i think it involves the idea of escape. flying is pretty much the only thing some animals can do that we humans can't, and i think it is supremely humbling. plus, superman flies. i, for one, would rather keep my feet on the ground.
