Ok,

So as many of you know, I am going to DC for the summer (June 5th ish to about Aug 8-10 ish).

Well...turns out that the housing plan that I had in place just fell through so now I need to find a place to stay in DC for at least 1 month possibly my entire stay.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Yes I can pay. Basically I've got my sister-in-law who also works in DC looking around for me. I'm trying to get a sense of whats available and what I can expect and whats reasonible. WORST case there are still some spots left in some of the summer oncampus housing at some of the universities, but they are charging things like 300 a week for a double room + a 15% hotel fee--which ends up being over $1000 a month, without kitchen facilities generally. But since I dont live in DC, I have no idea if this is a reasonible charge or you know berkeley gouging rates :P

So anyone who might be able to give me some suggestions or even just let me know what would be reasonible to expect would be helpful.

Heh, gamer friends-- what would we do without them?

Yes I would, but I need a little bit of time to figure out exactly where my job is and my timeline and things before I asked people to start pulling in favors for me ::grin::

Right now the internship is jerking me around about my start and end date so I'm not 100% sure when I'm even going to BE there. So, I'm kinda just trying to figure out my options and then trying to settle into one. (I think what I just wrote made sense.....heh having one of those days).

I'm no longer on any of the DC One World lists, but I still have a lot of friends in the area. Of course, 90% of them live in the suburbs, not in DC proper. Should I still look?

humm, probably a bit too far. I'm going to send the husband on a searching expedition in the next day or two. He will have time then but thanks!

I have some family that lives in that area. Two cousins that live in DC proper, another cousin in Alexandria and an aunt (mother of the first two cousins) that's about 10 or 15 miles from DC.

I'll check up with them in a day or two for you.
