Man, with the mobiles - I read that last night on Fark and the first thing that jumped into my head was "You replaced the handsets....but what about the SIM cards?"

$10 says they're still using the same ones...but that doesn't sound as spooky now, does it?

Not to mention the "scientific" experiments they did in the 1800s that "proved" that the touch of a menstruating woman would wither plants. The experimenters had a flowering pot plant which was tended by the woman during her menstruation. It died.

On the flip side, I've heard around the pagan traps that menstrual blood is the only acceptable "blood sacrifice", since it doesn't involve the loss of life. It can, therefore, be used in making certain potions, even if you're vegetarian - kind of a new take on the blood libel idea.
