Uuugh. What the heck just happened?

[He rubs the back of his head as he looks around the room.]

Huh. This sure doesn't look like Ganon's Evil Jar. Doesn't look like anywhere in the Underworld at all, for that matter. Oh, hey, what's this thing?

[Tap tap tap-]

Whoa!

I beg your pardon, did you say 'Link'?

That I still have. [Her portion of it, anyway.

She's been attempting to mentally prepare herself for this visit, and when she hears the knock she takes a deep breath. Even if he is not from her world, he is Link, a hero, and deserves her respect.

...Even when he uses such odd terminology.

The door is opened, and she's mildly surprised at how...normal he looks. She hadn't been sure what to expect.]

It is...an honor to meet you in person. [She thinks.]

That's good.

[Respect. Oh Zelda. Let's see how long that opinion lasts.

Link whistles when he lays eyes on the princess.]

Wow, lookin' good there, Princess! Got yourself all dolled up just for me?

[Have a cocky grin from a seventeen year old Link, followed by spreading his hands apart wide.]

Do I get a kiss to go along with that, too?

[Approximately five seconds.

There is rarely a time when Zelda doesn't know how to address someone. This is one of those times.]

This is the royal regalia of the crown Princess of Hyrule. [She wears it, off and on. It reminds her of home, even if it isn't particularly comfortable.]

I beg your pardon? [Zelda arches a slim brow. At least he'd asked.]

Yeah, but usually you wear that outfit with the vest and the pants. You don't usually look like this unless it's a special occasion.

[And what other special occasion could there be besides him coming over for a visit? He casually waves his hand in the air.]

No no, you don't have to beg anything from me, Zelda. My love for you is free.

[That's his cue to lean in for a kiss!

How good are you at dodging, Zelda? Better move it quick~]

Vest and pants? [Utterly bewildered, she tries her best to gather her composure. It simply would not do for her to appear as though she were a simpleton, standing there gawking at him.

Though it's becoming a bit of an effort not to do so.]

It--

What are you--

[Zelda doesn't have time to finish her sentence because Link is RIGHT THERE and -

what the hell is he doing.

It takes everything Zelda has not to blast him across the hall like she had done to Ganondorf, but there is a very firm push that ought to send him back a step or two.]

It would be in your best interests that you not do that. [Ever again.]

[Whoa, wait. The kiss actually landed. She didn't dodge him like she normally does, nothing bad happened before their lips could meet, no one interrupted.

The kiss. Actually. Landed.

Adasdlfka;js brb OVER THE MOON.]

Oh wow. WOW.

[HUGE GRIN!]

You're a much better kisser than your evil twin, Zelda!

[Threat? Did she threaten him? Sorry, he didn't notice. As far as he's concerned, that's completely normal behavior for Zelda.]

[Zelda is still relatively horrified with what just happened and is currently resisting the urge to rub viciously at her face with an abrasive towel.

Why do people keep trying to do this to her?!]

Perhaps it is best that you leave.

[For once, she thinks she might be content with letting someone else deal with this sort of thing. Zelda considers herself a diplomat, well mannered and even tempered, but even she has her limits. Link is stomping on every one of her reserve lines. She's so caught off guard and irritated she doesn't question the 'evil twin' bit.]

Awww, but Princess! We were just getting started!

[Watch how Link has no clue about stomping on any of those lines.]

You have overstepped your boundaries. [Like Ganondorf had done. But, since this is a Link, she decided against what was impulse.]

There are things to discuss and things you need to know, and I think it will be rather difficult if you continue to try maneuvers like what you just did.

[Link folds his arms across his chest in a decidedly sulky gesture.]

Darn it, this always happens.

[Grumble grumble, mutter mutter.]

Discuss what things?

[She's quietly seething.]

Things such as the fact that I am not the only Zelda aboard this ship, and nor am I the one you are clearly familiar with. You are also not the only hero here, though the other appears decidedly different than you.

[And more well mannered >/]

Wait, you mean you are Zelda's evil twin? Drat! I knew it was too good to be true!

I am most certainly not anyone's evil twin. I am my fathers daughter, and can be no other. I simply mean that this boat defies all laws of time and space. Your Hyrule is likely much different from the one I hail from.

It is not besieged by Twilight, is it? [Please say no, don't let this be a corrupted version of her own Hyrule's hero.]

Reply

excuuusemehero April 20 2010, 22:43:11 UTC
Huh? No. How could twilight besiege anything?

[Okay, now he's really confused. If she's not Zelda and not Zelda's evil twin, but she is still Princess Zelda...

Ow.]

Can you run all that by me again?

This place...it seems to pull us from different times. There is another Zelda here, and by comparing similarities and differences in the landscape and people, we have gathered that she is my ancestor.

It is a bit...difficult to believe, but it is very much true. As I said, there is another hero here, younger than you, and with fair hair.
