I think a lot of people equate sexism with misogyny, which while misogyny is sexist, sexism is not misogyny. And I think that might be what sets a lot of people off. He may be a bit miffed at women, but he doesn't hate them. (And that's all I'm saying on that).

Also, if he doesn't have a lot of experience with real relationships with women, how could he be "mature" and "knowledgeable" about it? When I listen to his music, I hear a lot of love and respect for women. I can't help but love him, with everything that he is and has to offer.
Should fans tell him to change? Well, wouldn't that be condescending?? Like you so nicely say, it's not a matter of being wrong or right, but of different opinions. Let's let him have his.
