How to Play Exchange Bingo

  1. Your card has a name in every square. This is the name you are looking for as the recipient of the gifts posted to the sshg_exchange.

When a name on your card is called, you read that recipient’s gift and post a review as a comment. Once your comment is posted, you can cut & paste its location into your review tracker (provided or your own).

  2. How do you find the review location?

Look at your comment box. Directly under your user name is a time stamp.

example:2010-04-20 02:05 pm (local) (link) ← see the link? Click on that, and your review’s location will be displayed in your browser’s address bar. Cut and paste that info into your review tracker.

  3. A customized review tracker will be provided for every bingo card.

As you review, just cut and paste the links into the square with the recipient’s name (it’s helpful during the prize claiming process if each square holds BOTH the recipient name AND the precise link to your review)

For multi-chaptered entries, please paste your review link from the final part.

(HUGE kudos to Spreadsheet Maven PJ for figuring out how to quickly generate not only the pdfs but also custom review trackers for each one!)

How to WIN Exchange Bingo

  1. Read and review stories until your card looks one of three ways (each card equals one prize - once a prize is claimed, that card cannot be played again).

    1. The green squares represent recipient stories that have been read and reviewed. These squares form a S. The first player to call a S wins a large prize. All other S s called will choose a small prize.

    2. The green squares represent recipient stories that have been read and reviewed. These squares form an H. The first player to call an H wins a large prize. All other H s called will choose a small prize.

    3. Every square is filled in (green) on this card. This is called a cover-up or blackout (because black ink is typically used in marking traditional bingo cards). Cover-ups called will choose a large prize.

  2. You will note that each card’s middle square is designated a “free snape.” This means that square is a freebie, and does not require a review to win.

ATTENTION: if you use the tracker method properly (recipient names, card number, links to review, not story; all in card template provided) to submit claims, your claim will be processed FASTER. If multiple claims (from multiple players) are submitted simultaneously, the MODS reserve the right to process claims utilizing the tracker method FIRST, regardless of received order (because they are easier to check). Capiche?

That “covers” it for now. The process for claiming prizes will be addressed in a week or two, once play is under way.

Thank you for playing and have fun!
