stafford is one of my favorite favorite favorites, and for very good reason. god. so good.

a bit of trivia that might not be of interest to anyone other than me: i wrote a poem about stafford for my poetry workshop and found out that my teacher (james hoch) had had stafford as his very first poetry teacher shortly before he died. i am 1) so jealous i could kill him and 2) really pleased and surprised to find out stafford was an influence on james hoch.

That's quite interesting, actually. And poetry workshop? Awesome. I've never been in a class only on poetry before.

i'm glad it's not interesting to only me, because i went all of yesterday being super excited about it and i had no one to tell :D. yeah, i go to a school with an excellent creative writing department, and i was delighted to see james hoch on the guest faculty this year (i had jeff mcdaniel last year). he is indeed an awesome teacher.
