When Debbie and I were both out of work we made getting a career our career.
I used to get up at 7am, start searching Workopolis, Monster and the HRDC Job Bank, applying for jobs, sending out resumes, etc. I'd finish doing all of my searches by noon and then would spend the afternoons either in telephone or in-person interviews or cleaning the house and making supper.
Debbie did something similar, but she usually started later in the morning than I did.
I know it isn't exactly fun being out of work, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.
That's pretty much the way I've been handling it. I'm getting up at the same time I was when I was working, showering and getting dressed in real clothes and hitting the websites. I'm not looking for jobs every minute of the day (because there just isn't that much out there) but I'm staying away from big time sucks like TiVo and Sims and such.
When I was career hunting, I wouldn't even play games or visit my regular "fun" websites until after 5pm, just to make sure I was still in the "business" mindset.
