on the subject of my uterus

The irony of my life:

Me: I’m 37 years old, I refuse to go back on birth control, and I give zero fucks if I my increasingly ridiculous periods cause me to bleed through my pants. The world can just fucking deal with the reality that women menstruate.

Hey Ex, I support your decision. Your body - your life. No matter what anyone else might tell you. I suffered with horrible periods for years (one time bleeding through my pants when on stage accepting an award; another time spouting a gusher on the Appalachian trail - and hoping no wild animals picked up my scent. Docs kept wanting to set their knives on me but I refused. All that is thankfully in the past.
Now, my son is producing offspring (with his wife) like there's no tomorrow and my daughter is blissfully content caring for dogs and horses. To each his own. :D
Take care and I hope everything comes out okay.

I'm lucky in that my OBGYN didn't pressure me, just gave me the facts without sugar-coating. Also lucky that it's an easy decision for me (and that the procedure is done laparoscopically these days).

Did you ever read Bill Bryson's book A Walk In The Woods? It's about hiking the Appalachian trail. I read it and thought to myself that I needed to hit that trail, then remembered that I don't camp, lol. I just recently learned, after living here for 12 years, that the town I live in is right on the Intercontinental Divide Trail, lol. I'll stick to the occasional day hike.
