My sister is a kindergarten level teacher. I can't imagine her managing to keep 20 terrified 5-6 year olds in line and secured while trying to unlock, load and stand to discharge a gun. Not to mention she's barely 5 ft tall and it's all heart. This makes her a fantastic and literally life saving teacher for some border line lost children, it does not make her a good choice to point a firearm at another human being and shoot to kill!

Totally agree. It also concerns me that if there were an unstable, angry, disengaged student in the class who didn't already have a plan and a gun, he would certainly know the one person in the room who did--and probably where to find it. I think it makes the teacher more vulnerable, not less.

Hugs.
