The nor'easter, which utterly failed to behave as predicted, did wind up getting pretty serious from about 6 a.m. until about, oh, the last half-hour or so. We've got more than six inches of snow out there and it's beautiful. It'd be more beautiful if I were watching it from home, but ah well. It's already only a four-day week for me.

Let me do a quick weekend summary here. )

snow, weekend

So yesterday, late morning, I talk to my dad. "You're not going to have to go to campus tomorrow!" he says. Then later he calls me back, sounding dejected. "Well, you might have to go to campus tomorrow. I'm looking at the radar and it's very disappointing."

I get up to the minute coverage; it's very exciting.
But I also get it with parental guilt: "Well, I just called because if you did have to go in I didn't want you to blame me."

The difference between "north and west of I-95" and "south and east of I-95" is amazing. It started snowing in Glen Burnie around 6 PM last night, though it didn't kick in with a vengeance until after midnight. 97 was a nightmare this morning; it'd been plowed, but not that you could really tell.
