Just when things in Mayfield had achieved some semblance of normalcy, a new drone had infiltrated the house. It had taken on the role of “mother” and was wildly irritating. The drone tried to play her role to perfection for an unwilling and unappreciative audience. This new arrival also meant that something must have happened to Nina. He’d assumed ( Read more... )

[Thankfully it was Nina that picked up and not Johan, although he could always utilize another extension.]

None of us have any control over what occurs in Mayfield... [Said more absentmindedly, although with the frequency that Johan had gone to visit Nina in the past he was a little curious whether this wasn't an entirely random switch after all.] You'll always be welcome here, and yes of course.

[They had a unique relationship and didn't always see eye to eye, but he had grown a sort of respect for Nina for sticking to her own ideas even if they may be counter productive to his own. Ironically he was also thinking it might be safer for Nina not to be associated as closely with himself. While there was no current threat, Ciel had made plenty of enemies in his own time. As long as Johan... wouldn't turn on his own sister anyway.]

Think nothing of it. [.............................. The infernal drone] Ah- yes. About that. I will manage however I find her exceptionally irritating.

I had wondered what your take on this scenario was and I must admit my own misgivings about the whole affair. [Since he's only heard negative things about Johan. He refrains from asking about anything too specific over the phone despite the nagging urge to do otherwise.] I didn't put much stock into who Mayfield arbitrarily decided I should be related to.. though in my case, I have an easier and less perplexing role to fill. If I were a in your position, I would certainly be frustrated.

My own... issues with this current drone pales in comparison to wait you have just described. I can't fathom a whole street filled with the infernal things.

[In his experience, Nina had always tried to put on a brave face and keep more of the negative thoughts to herself including the time when she'd died-- after the initial shock, she'd been fairly quiet about it. This opening up was a switch.]

Please do.

[He can't really blame her for the laughNo, but it gives me an idea. Perhaps I might encourage her to take up some sort of time-consuming ( ... )

I just usually say, "Okay, okay," to them- they'll stop after a while. I live with two drones, and that's how I usually deal with them.

Humoring them?

The prospect isn't all that appealing however it may be the most efficient method.

Yeah. It's pretty annoying sometimes, but it's the easiest way to get them out of your hair.

Instead of providing these drones, they should just allow those positions to remain empty.

.... or rather do away with the system in its entirety.

Nena one time just killed the drone because it talked too much.

You should do the same!

As enticing as that suggestion is.. I believe I will forgo the pleasure.

[Fabulous. There are psychos in Mayfield as in any city]

Nena will do it for you if you'd like! Or she can bury your drone in the backyard but leave oxygen so she can breath! It'll buy some time.

Wouldn't there be negative repercussions for engaging in any of those activities? I'm not looking to be droned myself.

[Both options.... are veryyyyyyyyyyyy difficult to pass up]

Hmm... perhaps burial is the most ideal. That way there's no actual harm done and it would sufficiently detain the drone. If the dirt is packed tightly enough, she shouldn't be able to move at all.
