I've never seen anything advertised. I think sometimes Cygna's Japanese school does stuff, but I'd be out of place there.

As for NYC, the chances of getting parental units to take the train up with me is slim. I think they just expect the culture to just trickle down, or something.

I wanted to have the (now defunct) anime club put together a matsuri, but no such fundsluck.
