I kept mis-seeing the darkness of the water around the toad as space, and then j identified the source of my brain cross-over. Here:

you have reminded me I must attempt to photograph the froglets around the pond. I am not sure the camera I have is up to it as they are very small.

This is really good stuff. You need to start putting together a book of Cambridge wildlife or something.
