Strep...or not?

I went to urgent care last night and the doc took one look at my throat and felt positive it was strep. She did a culture and prescribed me penicillin. Only problem? The test came back negative. I think they did the rapid test and will follow up with the longer test but we'll see. I have an email in to the doctor to ask what the heck I'm

My brother never tested positive on the rapid test, even when his throat was scarlet and full of white spots, but would test positive on the longer test.

gargle with saltwater. it won't replace the meds, but it'll help.
